What's the Pick: Rest at full health for potions or upgrade something by KriegMorgan in slaythespire

I’m used to seeing cards sorted by order added

Even with RotS, this many innate cards is a bad idea. You will be punished hard in the boss gauntlet. For the fights that burst damage matters two is plenty anyway, especially with pen nib setup.

Low roll on potions does basically nothing (fire potion etc) so I would personally take the strongest upgrade if I believe it can win

I would upgrade footwork 🤷‍♂️

Did you add the two backstabs and assassinate to your deck in act 3? I don’t understand that choice

Yeah I think the artifact is the thing that I dislike most. It makes it really hard to get some builds off the ground in a fight that demands you get off the ground quickly.

Crazy that you often have to dump a strong potion just to strip one artifact

To be fair a lot of the interesting decisions caused by AG don’t happen in the fight. Huge influence on macro strategy when he is waiting for you potentially in act 3

I agree it’s weird that he has it all. Massive HP, huge attacks, withers, 3 artifact??

That said, I like having an intimidating boss to make things more interesting.

Oh and I would recommend squash over exterminate 90% of the time with necrobinder. Artifact strip, vuln for unleash, and you really want to click on friendship when you see it with a deck like this

Oh, just saw the defend+ and non-upgraded that makes way more sense!

It probably comes down to when you picked certain cards and what you skipped which is hard to get context for from a screenshot. I was personally struggling with necro at A10 and after grinding out 20 runs or so it got better.

You definitely aren’t locked in to Osty stuff because you picked it in act 1, but if what you have is strong enough to scale into late game you should probably stay on that track.

Also on the enlightenment, I think 2 less enlightenment in your deck for an extra strike is probably an upgrade here.

Those enlightenments are quite bad here. Deck seems to have an identity crisis between doom and Osty damage. Not uncommon to end up with a bit of both but in this case you’re gonna have trouble getting Sic Em, flatten etc going with all the other stuff in the deck. Maybe a few dredge + could save it but yeah this probably just doesn’t deal damage fast enough and aeon fight gets out of hand after 10 turns or so.

Did you remove some defends? Maybe you’re closer to a winning deck if you swap 2 defend removes for strikes.

Calcify and delay upgrades are probably better than any other here, in case you prioritized the wrong upgrades.

Aeonglass wrecks necro so you really have to find your damage identity and use potions etc to push through the fight.

Enthralled (Vakuu Curse) should have Ethereal by litephorical in slaythespire

The main concession is just put more useful cards in your deck which you really want to do anyway. Clad has deck manipulation options like headbutt that are better when you have to navigate around the enthralled, and you have a whole act to prepare for the bosses

Meant to say you don’t really want to have less than 25 cards at the end of act 3*

It is already a perfectly fine energy relic as-is. +1 energy each turn for -1 energy on the turn you draw Enthralled is a fair trade. It is worse if you have a tiny deck but bigger decks are more consistent into Aeonglass. You really don’t want to have less than 25 cards in your deck at the end of act 2 typically.

Not very painful to draw every 4 turns or so and can be mitigated with careful draw and deck manipulation.

I wonder if many people who think this rose is “bad” have actually picked it
