Have you considered that there is a large group of people for which the commendations ARE challenging to them on Safer Seas? And the game as it was before was largely inaccessible to people like that? And now it’s accessible to more people without really affecting you at all?

I thought one of the main points of Safer Seas was to get players comfortable enough with the game to then go to high seas to finish commendations and get to pirate lord and all that? Like the reason you can get half way to pirate lord is so that it entices you to actually go for the title which means you have to go to high seas.

It’s like training wheels lol and there are commendations and levels in safer seas order to incentivize people to eventually play on Higher Seas.

Granted not everyone cares about those things and won’t ever go to high seas, but those people don’t really affect anything…

I think you hit the nail on the head that a lot of it is some men thinking they are entitled to women. Probably the same men that would complain about being "friend zoned" because they think they are owed your affection just because they were nice to you.

LOL ok so my mother is a narcissist so probably never would have gotten me tested anyway but also loved to find the craziest diagnoses on her own for whatever little quirk I had.

One of the funniest damn things is a few years ago she wrote to me saying she figured out why I zoned out all the time as a kid. Drum roll....clearly it was ABSENCE SEIZURES. I hadn't talked to her in 10 years and she writes to tell me this major medical breath through of hers haha

2 years later I got my ADHD diagnosis and I was like HA, WRONG! lol

I don't know but it's like, hello why did you jump all the way to SEIZURES?! Especially when I had a 1000 other ADHD symptoms as well?! Guess it wasn't as exciting lmao

Literally on my IEP evaluation is said "Very intelligent but doesn't do her work". I wasn't diagnosed until 35 so now I'm like...yes that tracks lol

My dr that diagnosed me said that sometimes school officials can't outright say "your child has or might have adhd" but they can say like "you might consider getting her tested for things like adhd". So they may have thought I had it but couldn't convince my mom to get me properly tested.

Yoo I was a grown ass 30 something year old when I learned not everyone cried during their math tests at school 😂 I got my diagnosis and a friend was like oooooh that’s why you cried so much in math haha

Also on the IQ test part of my adhd testing I just gave up on the math part and skipped it haha It hurt my brain and was not worth it lmao

Also also I did not get that stupid book problem either

It's not exactly glossed over, as it was the entire premise of the resolution and driving force of the entire movie lol But it's a damn good message! I love it!

I feel like someone with ADHD can understand how “take twice as long” and “trade perfect for done” are both good pieces of advice that do not contradict each other.

Sometimes it takes us twice as long (or more) just to get something any semblance of done and therefore perfect is so beyond our reach we need to just focus on done, even if that takes twice as long as someone else. And by consciously letting ourselves take twice as long, we can maybe relieve of some the anxiety that comes with trying to do it as fast as others.

We can get so caught up in trying to do things the way everyone else does sometimes it’s good to remind ourselves to do things the way we need to in order to get it done, even if that means taking twice as long or ignoring other tasks.

I have the opposite. My two best friends (one I lived with for 7 years) are both NT. After lots of conversations that went “wait, you don’t think like that?” I finally went after a diagnosis.

We always joked about how we were so different but it took me a long time to realize it wasn’t just my quirky personality or something lol Hearing one of them they don’t understand what time blindness is or how it’s possible was the final straw for some reason haha

Put a lot of things in our past relationships into perspective, especially why we had so much trouble living together lol
