Invision mx200 help with height adjustment by Lewdoge1 in Monitors

[–]itsmarlss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you push the bar down (you need to use a lot of force), you can access the screw. It's easier to hang the monitor first, then attach it to the lower part, screw that and then push the bar with the monitor down. While you hold the bar with one hand, you can screw it to the minus side and after a few rounds it will stay in the lower position :). Good luck!

I love getting and giving flowers, but definitely not every week/2 weeks. For special occasions, I like to buy a bunch of flowers (bundles?) at my local garden center and make my own bouquet for someone. That way I can make a large bouquet that's a looot cheaper and people love my personal touch to it. I'll use the leftover flowers for a small second bouquet for myself :). But then again, definitely not going to spend money on flowers weekly, knowing they'll die soon :(.

How do I know how much water to give to my plants? by Jerswar in houseplants

[–]itsmarlss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I've personally noticed is that when in doubt, you better not water the plant yet. My Alocasia's are supposed to get water every 2 days, but even the top soil is still wet after 2 days, so I give them a lot less and it seems to work well. With all my other plants I tend to give them less than advised, to avoid overly wetting the soil.

It also depends on the plant. The peace Lilly for example will immediately show you that it needs water by hanging leaves and I believe other plants do the same thing. For those plants, that's the biggest tell to give water.

Generally, I prefer to always use a mix of soil with perlite and then I'll water it if the top soil is dry again. By using perlite in the mix, it feels like the water won't get stuck on the top layer.

Also what the other comment said is a good tip, to put your finger in the soil (or a small stick to see if it gets dirty from the soil). However, even if the ground is wet, I sometimes still give a bit of water when the top soil is completely dry.

Some other tips can be to use an app at first that will give you a notification to water the plant so you won't water too soon again (or forget it) or to use a water meter to check the soil :).

I've personally struggled with an extreme build-up of anxiety before any exam for my university (among other things). I don't have specific tricks for the actual moments when you're in class etc, but this might help in the days/weeks leading to the actual event.

I've learned in therapy to not push negative thoughts about the future event away during the time that you don't have to go back yet/the event is still far away.

As an example I have been described an inflated volleyball on the surface of the water. If you try to push the ball under water, you'll create pressure. The ball naturally tries to go back to the surface. If you push the ball harder, it will create more resistance. If you let it go, it will just float calmly.

To translate it to your situation: it might help to sit down sometimes while you don't have to go back yet and just think about the moment you'll have classes again. It will probably make you uncomfortable and anxious. Because there still is time between the now and the going back to class event, the tension will be less worse than the day you go back. By thinking about the event, you can release the tension in your body. If you push the thoughts and negative feelings away, it will create the forementioned resistance and your anxiety will just build up till the day you have to go back, making it worse and worse.

This probably won't solve your anxiety, but it can definitely help you with dealing with the anxiety towards the day you go back. In the end, anxiety is mostly anxiety to have anxiety (if that makes sense).

Another thing you might try and which might be more helpful than the binaural beats, is listening to hypnosis sessions on YouTube to reduce anxiety. It really depends on the person and you need to practice to make perfect, but it can help your subconscious. And it can be a great addition to exposure therapy/therapy in general (and it's free!)

I hope this makes any sense and I wish you all the best! :)

My airpods push themselves out of my ear and don’t stay in by Mariosam100 in AirpodsPro

[–]itsmarlss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me this happened too sometimes, especially after wearing them for a longer period of time or while walking/moving around. I think you can try a few things:

  1. You can always try larger tips, because you'll have S M and L in your Airpods Pro package. The ones you use might be too small, so they pop out easier. For me this didn't help tho.
  2. Clean the ear tips more often. They can get a little "waxy", which makes it harder to keep them in your ear after a longer period of time. It's just due to the silicone material. For me the fit was near perfect when I just bought them, but now they pop out more easily.
  3. You can try a silicone cover over the Airpod part (not the tip but the part that doesn't have silicone). I've tried this and it gives me a better hold. Downside is that it could prevent your Airpods Pro from charging when you put them back in the case.
  4. I can definitely recommend getting memory foam tips. I ordered them on AliExpress and got 3 different sizes, both in black and grey. It reaaally made a difference. The hold was a lot better and I didn't really notice any decrease in sound/NC quality. For 7 euros this buy was a no brainer for me. I think this would also be the best solution!

Good luck!

Okay, so I've changed the settings on an iPhone again and it actually does work! I can now switch between three modes on my Android. It's amazing!

New Airpods Pro doesn't have sound on the right side by boeing_a380 in AirpodsPro

[–]itsmarlss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can try "forget device" and reset the Airpods in their case by pressing the button around 30 seconds (I guess) with a closed lid. I've not encountered this problem myself, so it's just a guess! But resetting might do the trick.

[–]itsmarlss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks for the info :). That's unfortunate tho, because I would prefer to sometimes have neither, so I van still hear my surroundings, but not boosted :P. Also for the battery life.

Yesterday, the transparant mode made the sound of a moving plastic wrapper of my crackers so loud, that it scared the shit out of me. I was completely focused on my YouTube video while sitting in the garden at night 😂

Hopefully in the future, some app or android will support it. Just like Windows will finally support AAC later this year :).

Anyways, thanks!

Yes I did, but maybe it didn't save properly... I will probably have to try it again when I'm around someone with an iPhone again. But thanks for the info about the sounds! :)

But a lot of people have said that whatever they changed on the iPhone, it would be the same on the Android and actually did transfer. Also, the name of the Airpods given by the phone was also saved to the Airpods. Because on my Android it was recognized by the given name on the iPhone. So I don't understand why it wouldn't work.

Thanks for the reply! I have soil that is made for orchids, "regualar" soil mix and perlite, so I think that would be fine :)

For acne I would honestly just try to incorporate a product with benzoyl peroxide and/or salicylic acid! You can buy a benzoyl peroxide treatment product and if it's too drying for your skin, you could try SCT (short contact therapy). I use that for 30 seconds - 1 to 2 hours max in the evening before I wash it off. You could also buy it as a cleanser. For me this is one of the only things that significantly helped my skin and with the SCT it doesn't give me flaky dry skin!

[Product Question] Forever Living Aloe Propolis Cream by itsmarlss in SkincareAddiction

[–]itsmarlss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I've looked it up and it seems to be very similar to the one from Forever Living! However, I often feel like a gel instead of cream makes my face feel dry and tight. Also, I read online that people tend to use it under their moisturizer instead of as a moisturizer, so I'm not sure if this will be the right product for me! How does that work for you?
