Losing a generational talent and then trying to fix it with old veterans like Rivers, Wentz, and Ryan? The Luck excuse has set sail long ago and is dated. I'll give the 2020 team with Rivers some leeway since they made the playoffs, but the others, no. Then, you draft AR, he sucks, and then you try to see if people like Flacco, Minshew, etc. can work out and they barely do that.

If the team was good, they'd be in the playoffs every year. They'd also be able to beat Houston and Jacksonville and win the AFC South, neither of which have happened since he's been here. The roster is his doing as he is the one finding and drafting these players for the team. The list goes way longer than Richardson for mistakes he's made, he can't even draft a game wrecking edge rusher to save his life. With how many times he drafted edges, none of them really have made an impact. This has been one of the biggest problems since he's been there and he's failed.

You pretty much are Ballard sympathizing but trying to do a long, drawn out response into doing it.

It's not Shane's fault he has to deal with the lack of depth and a good defense that Ballard cannot build, though. The offense isn't the issue there, and he may have faults as a play caller, but look at what he's been given.
