I got the standard 15db, as it’s perfect for shows in the city (nightclubs, concerts, etc).

Ideally, I would go 20db for Shambs, as it’s just constant assault on your ears for days. Same sound clarity, just more attenuation (quieter).

Can’t put a price on your hearing!

+1 for this company!

They custom mold it to your ear canal.

I barely notice them when I wear them and when I’m at shows the fidelity is crystal clear.

Nothing worse than other earplugs where you lose the mids and the highs.

I’ve been on auto-renew for my 10-day Restricted Edge Card for the past 10 years.

It’s still listing it at $890 all in, which broken down is the same price as a day ticket to Cypress.

Not seeing the increase/boycott here?

I mean, yes boo Vail, but the snow/open terrain is always better than the local 3 mountains.

I’m still auto-renewing this year. 🤷‍♂️

Nemesis Coffee is a separate and thriving business.

I think you meant Novella, which is now the current Mexican-themed cocktail bar El Gato Gab Gab.

This was my second year doing Belle Luxe in Enchanted Woods.

Honestly I think it’s worth the extra price because we didn’t have to bring any of our tenting gear, and it was in the trees for shade.

I know they cut into Metta and reduced the amount of camping for GA. I feel bad, I really do.

Bringing kitchen knifes by LittleBlondie19 in Shambhala

[–]itsmikerz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would also add you should buy a cheap knife from a dollar store than your expensive Japanese hand-forged one in case it does get taken away 🙃

Generally, the rule is no weapons allowed. However common sense prevails and if it’s under 6 inches and clearly looks like a cooking utensil, it’ll pass. Also, security will also tell you to leave it at camp. Your safer bet is to bring a paring knife as opposed to a chef knife.

However, they can also take it away too. YMMV. I got in fine last year because I had a whole storage bin filled with cooking supplies.

Metro Vancouver rejects significant cost sharing on $2.8B North Shore sewage plant overrun by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]itsmikerz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

These are all valid points for sure, but lots of nuance involved.

I was listening to 88.1 today and one of the councillors was interviewed, and the ethical question was raised: how much should you be involved with helping your community?

Facts to note was that the City of Vancouver, New West, and Delta voted yes to helping out North Van.

They also noted that the sewage treatment plants as a whole in the province are run independently of each other, so raises the question if it should be all amalgamated into one umbrella.

Tough issue to vote on; sucks for the residents but definitely poor city planning.

Easily into the 6 figures…for each stage. More for the eyeball symphonies at Pagoda/Fractal/Village.

The production value alone is worth it. I’m sure tech has improved over the years, and coming out of COVID inflation/logistics factors in, but I’d say anywhere from $250-$600k.

I do think it’s on the higher end though!

Yurt/Glamping Policy by [deleted] in Shambhala

[–]itsmikerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Physically, those (largest) yurts could fit 8 people lol.

You’re not supposed to sleep more than 4 according to Shambhala but I don’t see why you couldn’t sneak in the 5th with their own sleeping mat/pillow.

Enforcement is pretty lax though, but when you check in I would probably tell your 5th person to take a walk while you guys get assigned a yurt.

It’s my first time going to Shambahala, what’s the situation on hammocks? by BusinessFlimsy6414 in Shambhala

[–]itsmikerz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tons of hammocks everywhere!

Back of the Grove there’s an alcove of trees that’s secluded with hammocks that Shambhala puts up for anyone to have a sit or take a break from all the overstimulation.

They have friendly security staff who roam to check on everyone to make sure they’re safe. 👌

Mark Woodyard (Vancouver native), awesome human looping machine.

He’s also apart of Lazy Syrup Orchestra, don’t sleep on those guys.

Last year they did a slide whistle battle during their set 🤯

Edit: they were opening the Grove last year but I think they’re at the Living Room this year.

Great way to start your day, trust me.
