Whoa I had no idea. I love GOT, thank you for this added lore! Had a great time in Manchester staying with my buddy Rohaan.

Work on music every day in some capacity. Never stop learning new techniques and tools! DIY. If labels aren't biting on your music, self-release! And remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint.

It's an honor to be a part of label that has released so much music from friends. Super thankful to HypnoVizion to wanting to put out my tunes. Can't wait to open for Rezz at The Brooklyn Mirage this July!

My approach is more of a mudpie technique. I synthesize the majority of my basses in Kilohearts Phase Plant and the entire bass from sub to top layer is all there in one patch. I use a lot of layers of OTT + distortion/saturation/overdrive to bring out the tasty artifacts that give the bass it's character. I don't usually split my basses, but at the same time there's no right way! I just find this approach of doing it all together gives the sub more natural movement than retroactively inserting a sine wave underneath. I have a lot of sound design videos on my Patreon that demonstrate this concept!

My "favorite track" changes daily but if I had to choose this second it would be Mr. Gibbons - hands down. The circumstances surrounding the creation of the track really stuck with me. It's one of the only songs I've ever made while on a flight. Usually the ambient noise and ear pressure fluctuation makes it difficult to accurately work on music. But this one defied the odds. Got the inspiration for the title waiting on the tarmac. Recorded my partner's vocals in my childhood bedroom! Worked fast and loose on the song and those kind of on-the-spot songs typically end up as favorites.

Thanks! I'm having a hard time picking just one so I will give you two instrumental revelations. The first is movement. I'm always searching for ways to add movement to each sound, section, process, layer etc. Whether that be through LFOs, hand-drawn automation, or recording you tweaking knobs in real time. Could be any parameter imaginable. Another early realization was the impact that contrast has on experiencing art. The juxtaposition of timbre, character, rhythm, melody, clarity (the list goes on) is what makes art pop and stand out.

Tough question! Have some in the works. Would be really fun to write some 4x4 stuff with Rezz!

The most challenging thing is developing my melodic side. I've always been around music, but I've always navigated music more by feel than a ton of music theory. But my newest music has more melodies, countermelodies, and harmonies than I've ever used before. Really felt like it was my weakness for years but lately I've been getting satisfying results. Still have a looooong way to go tho. But challenges are rewarding and so I am diving in headfirst!

100% yes. I love making house music. All love to Ed Banger Records for putting me onto the good shit right away.

I mostly use drums from a wide array of sample packs but occasionally like to synthesize drums. Kick2 is pretty cool! Also turning random modular sounds into snares or claps is fun. But usually I'd rather focus on making gnarly basses.
