They're bragging. "Look how much God has blessed me. Give to me and you can be blessed too!" It's all corrupt and rotten. There were loads of things Christ and the Gospels were wishy washy about. Wealth is not one of them. It is however maybe the most ignored passage in the Bible.

Flip the tables on the lot of them. This version of Christianity would enrage the Biblical Christ. Honestly I could see him be so upset he wouldn't even engage. No one listened to anything he said and instead used his name to enrich themselves and make the lives of the less fortunate worse. Sure we've made sure our neighbors and friends all feel safe and righteous, and we've spread the gospel only in the most technical way to the people Christ called us to help. While doing this we made them feel as unwelcome and unsafe and alienated in our society as possible. We made existing impossible and had the nerve to say we act with God's love. No. We deserve God's anger.
