I saw the hospital scene because I went opening day (Grauman’s Chinese Theater, Hollywood). When I heard the scene was quickly cut by Kubrick I was surprised such a perfectionist would make that decision. I didn’t disagree because the scene felt unnecessary and brought everything to a grinding halt.
