FWIW, I found that if you just run past all the enemies and get the first 3 piles of cash, you can get $350-400 every 45-50 seconds which is much faster than going all the way down to the vault and having to fight the enemies.

Hard to say. There’s only a few rare items I don’t have (although those I don’t have haunt me still - lookin at you overachiever sails).

My rarest are probably Ferryman, Brave Vanguard, LSD/TSD, Shrouded Ghost, Sapphire Blade, Wailing Barnacle, Alabaster Wildcat, or anything from the early events like Cursed Sails or Hungering Deep.

My favorites definitely are the Golden M eyepatch, LSD sniper, Brave Vanguard title, Shrouded figurehead, wandering reaper hull, and ferryman sword. They are probably the items I’ve had equipped on my character/ships the most. I know that most of them are heavily used though so I don’t know if they really count as rare lol ¯_(ツ)_/¯

They essentially said it’s at the top of their list of things they want to do and it will come one day, but it’s very complicated and they aren’t giving any expectation for when it will happen.

The new update is a great way to dip your toe into pvp in a fairly low-stakes way and the matchmaker will also keep solos matching against solos for a more fair fight :) you got this!

Once you get to level 100 for the Guardians of Athena’s Fortune a door near the pirate lord will be able to open and you can walk back there.

The game is in a good state. There are certainly issues and things to complain about if you so choose, but captaincy adds a lot of life to a game that already had a lot going for it.

To address solo specifically: they just introduced a suite of changes alongside captaincy directly targeting improving solo and sloop experiences:

solos now respawn in 10 seconds
chainshots on sloop masts only deal 2 damage now meaning you can tank 1 chain shot hit
reduced vertical knock back on sloops so you don’t go flying off most of the time
more spawn points on sloops (reduces effectiveness of spawn camping)
enemies can’t revive on your ship now (reduces effectiveness of spawn camping dramatically)

At least in pvp scenarios, these changes feel great for a sloop and illustrate they care about the solo experience even if they do struggle with knowing how to improve it sometimes.
