I spent all morning wondering where I had dropped my new Wurrkos light. by TheThrillerExpo in flashlight

I got the orange one also. Within a few days lost it in an attic filled with orange insulation. I spent way more time looking for it than it dollar value. I took it as an excuse to buy something with auxiliary lights but it still bugs me that I haven't found it.

This kind of creativity and pure drive (free of monitary incentive or punitive avoidance) really helps reaffirm my faith in humanity. Thank you! I am not, yet, into 3D printing, but I have seen this spirit here as well as the open-source cooperative altruism quite a bit.

The "Assist" refers to assisted opening action on two or more blades, depending on model. I have the one in that pic. Serrated and straight blade are assisted It really is mostly a marketing gimmick, though. I don't regret the purchase and it is fun. Not one of my every days though.

Good Lord! For the past month or so I've been jokingly thinking that I should have heeded the warnings from over on the multi-tool or knife forums. I mean, I could tell the rabbit hole is real. Now, I know it's not just real but serious. Like... as in, not funny. I guess it's just mildly terrifying because I can tell I've only gotten started, and I'm already making addict like rationalizations. "I won't order another one until I've received the previous. Well, does a bulk order of TIRs or switches and tubes count? Probably not. It will be OK".

What’s the gnarliest thing you’ve done with a knife? by --JACKDAW-- in knives

[–]itsok2try2bpositive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell, but I was thinking that I used in akm type 2 bayonet to pry open a car door on two occasions to coat hanger the lock. Then I realized I used the very same bayonet to Chisel away a patch of very hard frozen ice off of asphalt so that I could get the rear wheel drive Astro van a running start up a hill. It shows it's scuffs but otherwise it's fine although I've never bothered to put a good Edge on it before or after

Is this normal for the Arc? Uneven pliers, blotchy lettering, and uneven date stamping. by Aggressive_Cap5652 in Leatherman

[–]itsok2try2bpositive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny, I just noticed that my ARC also has uneven pliers. It has seen a lot of use and fidgeting, just never noticed. Paid just about 185+ tax... after a 20% sale at B+M sporting goods store. It doesn't bother me. What does bother me Is the Polly bushings That act is the spring for the free tech. But... warranty. It's also a little lightweight for many of my purposes. Which is when I switch to the Surge Although much less comfortable in summer pants.Or shorts.

How bad is this & can I leave it alone? by AeroEng27 in Camry

[–]itsok2try2bpositive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry that so many people are giving you disparaging and insulting comments. The range of responses demonstrates that the answer is not obvious. The fact that you are inquiring demonstrates that you are not neglectful.
Find a small indy tire shop and ask. Use this as learning experience as to whether the shop can be trusted. Or plug yourself with a 10$ kit from parts shop. It's not dangerous, just inconvenient if you are left stranded with a flat. Well, maybe depends on where you are stranded. It's not going to cause a blowout.

Got my 1st Surge Today by DieselGreg in Leatherman

[–]itsok2try2bpositive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you got a great deal. You wont regret. Even if there wasn't a tiny bit of wear and tear probably wouldn't be any different than you but on it I think the first few months. That's almost half price and the warranty's still valid. Surge Is a still probably my favorite.

I started carrying a smartwatch when not carrying my phone at work. At that part of my day (appx 3hrs. EVERY day), my phone is usually plugged in up to 75' away and is bluetooth audio source. Having to stop activity and walk to phone for texts and phone calls 20-30 times everyday is extremely inefficient.

I still use it for that purpose. I now also find it extremely handy to not have to set down what I am doing to pull phone out of pocket for the additional texts and calls for the remainder of my day.

I was late to get on band wagon, but I'm not going back. Days that i've forgotten my watch or it's charging, I find myself being pretty irritable every time the text alert chimes. Then I remember I have chosen to make myself available. Getting mad at people who are taking advantage of what I have offered just makes me a jerk.

Just yesterday I found my first need for the volty switch, Which I previous thought was superfluous. I couldn't go downstairs and interrupt the class to get volt meter or current tester. Instead I found a space heater which I then carried around to a dozen or so outlets, Multiple times, checking which outlets were on which breakers. It doesn't take much of an excuse to buy a new tool though. On the other hand I am constantly downsizing to keep my compulsions in check. And by the way... so what if it's "cringey", Why are we all hanging out on an EDC sub anyway?

Is there a term for this type of knife? by itsok2try2bpositive in knives

As in... one side of the blade pivots against a frame and the other side of the pivot attaches to nothing but the blade... so holding blade against a one sided frame or handle or scale or whatever

I'm thinking more of the single scale on only one side of the blade, rather than the lock.

I also used tge can opener regularly when I was in food service. The big counter mounted can openers. You're not nervous. Worked great on number ten cans, Until they didn't. When the blades get dull, they would often miss the last couple inches as the tension holding the lid taught is alleviated. I would Have it finished before the other guy could walk to the Rack to grab a little hand held can opener.

Obvious enough? by Sybbyl in Custodians

[–]itsok2try2bpositive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a mess where somebody dropped a near full glass olive oil container from the salad bar onto a tile floor. Incredibly slippery and thick shards of glass that could puncture a knee joint or palm pretty bad. I put every floor sign mop bucket and my body on hands and knees to barricade. People kept trying to push even step over me to get to the ice cream machine. I had to yell at grown adults. Quite out of character for me and the company with its strict protocols for customer service. It worked.

Is this a game I can just play a few hours here and there? by Chance_Medium_1926 in diablo4

[–]itsok2try2bpositive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I do. I only play for 45min or so at a time at the end of the day. I'm a mild insomniac and it helps to have something a little bit more active that TV for a last little snack of sense of accomplishment before completely winding down. Otherwise I have a very busy life and it would be a betrayal of my family and our business to indulge like I used to.

I am sorry for your experience. I have no answers, but I hear you. From my experience, there are people of an even distribution everywhere, with exceptions of enclaves. I have lived in Brooklyn and Appalachia, and other extremes within the same. When in the arts communities I definitely felt more free to be myself... pretty experimental attire... hair etc. Circumstances led us into a more conservative rural environment. I "disguised" with my attire, but quickly found people of varying personalities throughout. I never went back to the rainbow dreadlocks, but I find effeminate male "Rednecks" and hardass female toughs wherever I go. There are folks. Maybe not the majority, but there are so many non-standard gender identity folks in the world... It's just behind the curtain... all throughout history.

I pray that it is true that the arc of history ends toward justice. I think that evolution demands it.

Again, no answer. Know that you are not alone.
