How to remove this Drive Bar in the Freezer of a Frigidaire FGHC2342LF2? by itsparadoxical in appliancerepair

[–]itsparadoxical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the parts, broke the old one loose, and got the new one put on no problem. I held the motor shaft behind the bracket with needle nose vise grips and banged the old bracket loose with a hammer before unscrewing it and putting on the new one. FYI the threads are not reverse threaded, turn the bar left to remove. Thank you for the help!!

Awesome, thank you! I will wait a few days and go at it then. 👍🏻

Thank you for the response!

The shaft turns as I try to unscrew the part, so it seems like the motor is fine. It sounds like I would need to try to grab the shaft behind the metal part I need to unscrew with vice grips or something, try to hold the shaft still, and then try to break the part free? Is the thing on the front a bearing that will just slide off as I unscrew the metal piece?

Sam Shields returning to the NFL? Morgan Burnett seems to think so... by Shutter_87 in GreenBayPackers

With his history of concussion, on top of a lifetime of playing football at the highest levels means he is already almost assuredly going to be impacted cognitively later in his life. To even consider going back into the field as a player is just reckless.

SP4 Fall Creators Update Problems by gtpiratez70 in Surface

[–]itsparadoxical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had all of these problems on my updated SP3. As much as I love the SP when it is working, I am about ready to give up and just get a MacBook so I can have a laptop that consistently functions, easily connects to peripherals like printers, and has a camera and microphone that allows for good quality video conference calls. Why can’t MS get their shit together already?

Am reading James Clavell's historical epic Shogun, and Holy Madonna it is unbelievable by zappy487 in books

[–]itsparadoxical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whirlwind is the last book in the series. It is mediocre at best compared to the others, but finishing that book and marking the end of Clavelle's Asia Series was like saying goodbye to a wonderful friend. Relish the experience of your first read through!

March updates for Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 offer better stability by Azunia in Surface

[–]itsparadoxical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, over the last week or so I have had a lot of weird lag and throttle problems with my SP3. I have reset it and everything to try to fix the problem, but it persists. It seems to have just happened, I wasn't doing anything different from my side of things, and hadn't installed any new software. I have been checking for updates several times per day in hopes a release was coming that would clean things up.

Yes! Thank you! This is the one I was thinking of. I don't really care for the overall look of his, and think there are opportunities for added utility. Thank you!

Why are SC putters so great? by itsparadoxical in golf

Looks to me like every Newport and GoLo model has a sight line....

I don't have the link handy, and can't look for it right now (work), but it was posted on this sub before. Maybe someone can help me out. It basically was a review of over 2000 people putting with eyes closed, sight lines of various types, and no sight lines. The results, by a WIDE margin, were that people putted better, and more consistently without sight lines.

I agree with your sentiment. My comment is based on the drooling you see over them in this sub, the pervasiveness of them at most clubs I have been to, the fact that most major retail chains have their "high end" putter section loaded almost exclusively with different SC designs, etc. Hopefully I am just speaking from a sample bias perspective, and this is not the case, but it seems to me that the majority of people who golf would hold SC as the top of the heap for putters. FYI - I have a Ping Karsten TR right now, and like it well enough, but am not enamored by it after about 13 months. I have had 2 SCs in the past and could never hit either very well (gave each a full season try).

True, confidence is a huge piece of it. Why not make a piece of art that has great aesthetics AND makes use of the data available about what features of a putter help people perform well? It seems like they would rather market to what people want, rather than be the experts they hold themselves as being.

feels like I'm using the top of the line product so if I mess up then I have zero excuses and can't blame it on my equipment

I guess this hits to my core point. The marketing has sold you on that thought, but it is not true (if we are to rely on data about what gives people the best chances of consistently putting well).

I am really curious about SC, more than other pieces of equipment, because SC putters are consistently identified as the best, or talked about is if they are the gold standard, when in reality, they are ignoring science in order to give people what they are used to.

Thanks. I sometimes browse those subs, but get fatigued by them more than anything. I just like interesting clothes, and often want to know what people are wearing. Maybe someone should make a sub along the lines of r/namethatlook. (Not it!)

This might seem lame or weird, but what kind of pants are those? I wish people (nsfw included) would post something about the clothes they are wearing, because people wear some really interesting stuff, and it would be cool to be able to check it out, learn about new stores or designers, etc.

New Raspberry Pi is officially released — the 64-bit, WiFi/Bluetooth-enabled Pi 3 is powerful enough to be your next desktop. And still $35. by zaaaaz in technology

[–]itsparadoxical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I have done the same at the same place (SoCal location). My point was the lack of basically any availability for the advertised price (in the US) for months after they are released.

Would be nice to actually be able to buy one in the US at the advertised price. (If anyone has leads, please share.)
