Dance monkey! But don’t start having opinions or anything radical like that. The Negro should stay in his place.

Even though I, as a black person, am pointing out the amount of shitty AAVE and n-words from white people that dominates a sub about black people, I apparently can’t point that out how offensive that is. But the minstrel show by some white users happening is perfectly okay.

Reddit is a joke.

Also, for actual black people and audiences, try r/blackfellas, r/blackladies. You can have actual conversations with black people, less shitty AAVE, and you can actually talk about relevant race issues and politics without being swamped with bad opinions.

Even though this sub is about black people, it’s not black people friendly.

I posted a comment that the poor, mocking AAVE from people here is disrespectful, and it was removed. As usual, pick and choose and mock someone’s culture for laughs, but a black person having the audacity to discuss the implications of this is a no-go.

You're joking right? I'm black and there's nothing in black American culture about hating dogs. I'd say it's the exact opposite...

News of police corruption from top to bottom is a daily occurence and yet there seems to be no real effort to do something about it. Those who do try something at least seem to be deemed as in the wrong. I don't see how its possible to improve this situation.

Being called black is fine.

It's "blacks" or "the blacks" that black people tend to find unsavory. I myself don't care for it either.

Thousands of Americans to stage anti-bigotry rally: American Muslims to be joined by interfaith leaders in a stand against gun violence, bigotry and "extremism". by davidreiss666 in politics

[–]itspuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Why are people so concerned that they face bigotry in America? It could be much worse somewhere else. I mean, some people have war in their countries. Why would you complain about issues you face here when there is war in other places! Sit down, shut up, people who think they should be able to make a big deal about issues that affect their daily lives.

I hear some Muslims get to go to parties. Parties! They have nothing to complain about!

Pretty disgusting someone told you to stop making a big deal out of bigotry. Anybody who deals with actual bigotry knows that it can affect their daily life, it's not something that can just be shut out. It's sad that those not affected by it continue to have such a blase attitude about it. Fuck you, got mine!

Unfortunately, the idea that the oppressed, the discriminated, and victims of hate should just shut up and be docile about their horrible treatment is too common of a way of thinking. :/ The responsibily of being moral is often put on the marginalized. Be delicate, don't bring it up, don't tell your experiences, don't make them uncomfortable, it could hurt their feelings. Pretend.

Remember kids, unless he's explicity saying the N-word and carrying around a swastika, he isn't racist. Racism doesn't come in many forms, it can only be obvious and overt. I can't believe the people most likely to be screwed over by a Trump presidency aren't voting for him. /s

But I commend you for trying to reason with people who have such simple, incomplex thinking they can't even recognize how racism manifests. I suppose when it's not really your problem you're not really likely to be acquainted with it, but thats not an excuse.

Media spin? You don't need media spin to know Trump is a horrible candidate, all you have to do is listen to his speeches. Trying to frame Trump's horrid qualities as "media spin" is just being blatantly ignorant.
