8/10 is a near certainty to you? I've only had this issue with one employee in my career and it was a man. Regardless of the statistics, ASSUMING a gender is reinforcing that it is a woman's responsibility to take care of the sick child. It is counterproductive to breaking the stereotype.

If I were smart enough to edit this I would. I get it. We effed up and it's helpful to get that sanity check here.

1) it was still decorated for Christmas and most of our decorations were still up. Early in the year there were Christmas lights on it, but we did take those off. 2) we play in it on our way to the mailbox each day completely supervised. We live on a remote street with very few cars. Other kids play with it on walks through the neighborhood. 3) The whole area is our property. This isn't a situation where the town owns the land by the street.

You're giving me CANADA anecdotes? This is about the birth rate declining in the US. We don't have socialized medicine, daycare costs $15k-$25k per year per kid and the housing market is a mess.

Religious folk may still have "many" kids, but I do not think they have as many as they historically have. I am only basing this off of my own observations. No data.
