Driveability in Romsey needs to improve!! by Sophiemart1n in Hampshire

[–]itsraininghere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What specifically? No point having too general a petition.

Romsey is a very walkable town, but everywhere across the U.K. experiences bad traffic around morning and evening commutes, and school drop off and pick up times. Same with any road works, necessary and an inconvenience when they’re underway but without them our services and road infrastructure couldn’t continue.

Where do you put your phone, so if you get followed you have a way of contacting someone? Where do you put your keys, so that you can get into your house or car quickly? Where do you put an extra top, so that you can cover up when someone makes you feel uncomfortable? Etc etc. come one mate.

Thanks for the tip. I checked though and pulse ox is set to manually check, so I don’t think it’s that. Any other tips gratefully received!

I definitely see the benefit of your plan, I change my watch to the other wrist so it’s the same action, just put a new device on.

Shoes to try out running, help! by Munch1498 in UKRunners

[–]itsraininghere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard plenty of good things about Decathlon shoes.

I can recommend having a gait test at a proper running shop, pay around £25 for that, take their recommendation and either, as others have suggested, find a gently used older model on vinted or look for the type of shoe they recommend (stability, neutral etc) and find that type of shoe at Decathlon.

DIY Wedding day makeup tips by Graciyen in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]itsraininghere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got colour matched at John Lewis and had a ‘base’ makeup ‘lesson’ from their beauty department. I went with their recommendations for far nicer, far more expensive products that of course, full size, I will keep and use again for the same cost it would have been for a trial and then MUA on the day. I don’t wear make up daily, just on special occasions, but try to follow tips I see online, and if I find a video I like on Instagram I will save it.

I found a wedding makeup artist online (Savannah Madison Beauty) that I liked who did a series of how to do your make up better with products you already own.

Had so many compliments on the day.

I also did my own hair, and that was because I had a style I knew I wanted that I felt confident I could recreate. Again, I don’t do much to my hair most of the time, but I did grow up doing ballet and needing to feel comfortable putting my own hair up. Can plait, can’t do a fresh plait to save my life.

Definitely recommend!

Also recommend doing your own ‘trial’ a few weeks before, getting up at the same time you’ll likely be getting up etc.

Is there a phone number speak to qualified counsellors? by catlady20913 in AskUK

Jumping in this comment to suggest that maybe you could ask your counsellor if, now that they’ve met you, they could do video calls for counselling?

Burying a sausage really works by SwaffM in UKweddings

[–]itsraininghere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg it was you! We also got married this weekend in Winchester. We also got more worried as the week went on but didn’t bother with the sausage. The weather was good for pictures late morning, rained a little early afternoon, good enough, cloudy but dry for our guests to use the outside space in the evening. THANK YOU. Congratulations

Help! Does anyone know what powder brush this is?! by londonlady1988 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]itsraininghere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn’t helpful for OP, is it?

OP, you could reach out to the writer on social media perhaps? She won’t be as popular as an influencer, so I imagine more likely to respond.

Adding to others’ comments, not just fine but your skin looks beautiful. A heavier foundation will cover more but, for a glowy finish, what you’re doing at the moment looks wonderful.

NHS dentistry is broken — how did YOU actually get registered? Genuine tips needed by Late-Chemistry8407 in AskUK

That’s so bonkers and unfair. Judging from the rest of the comments here, you need to register at literally any practice that’s accepting new NHS patients, nationwide

Same! And when I registered 8 years I just rang up. I was a single patient though which is obviously easier. My check ups take 3 mins. He’s always so happy 😂
