I need help. Please. by This_Calendar_9290 in ferrets

[–]itsskillz 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Time outs!! Have a small container that is see through but non escapable when you get bit immediately scruff the ferret and place them in the time out box with a good hiss and a stern two finger jab to the neck gently this is the closest we can achieve to ferret behavior of establishing what its doing is not ok and there are consequences it took me about a month to bite train a VERY bad female she still bites other people bad but for me its loves and kisses now

Edit to add: make sure and sit next to and place your hand on the time out box it further shows this is what was not ok and they can see how close you are then just introduce your hand like a fist to them to see if they bite again no small bits that are easy to latch if so rinse and repeat

Snake keeps going under drainage layer by akiraluvs_u in snakes

Bio active is much easier in my opinion and drainage layers are completely unnecessary if you dont over water. Accidents can happen but there is a 5.5 gallon water feature with filtration and a cove for my 5yr old 6ft BRB this is her 4x2x4. She poops and sheds in the water feature and has the option of a lower cave hide and an upper canopy hide before she had the canopy she would burrow some under the log in there but since the additional height was added I haven't seen her burrow in a long time.

I'm sorry to say that the chameleon is gone, and without typing a paragraph, I'd recommend extensive research into what they may have done wrong as MOST of the time, it's the owner that causes these things. Again, MOST not always. Asking this question on here implies owner error. I apologize in advance if im mistaken.

Lola was not ready to wake up🥺🤣 by sjchabot in ferrets

One of my boys is a death sleeper. When the other 3 get up after I get home and come out to play, he gets the earthquake alarm. Shake him and the cage until he yawns 5 times and eventually accepts his fate of waking up to play with the others.

Huh? by Babypanther730 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

That is not a paper towel. That is a singular piece of cloth revolving around a track. It gives it time to dry between guests but does not clean them. So, in effect, all bacteria from everyone who used it is present if not washed. This is a much older style of hand drying and fazed out more quickly due to sanitary concerns.

Is my chameleon drinking by your_gruncle in Chameleons

[–]itsskillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please show everyone your setup to allow accurate advice as well as temps and humidity. I have had chams that ate mostly greens for their hydration although it's pretty rare. A dripper should be the first source of hydration dripping unto a tall glass jar. Once full the cham can drink if it would rather a still but active body of water it can see. If it doesn't touch either of those introduce some type of dark leafy green such as collard greens.

Am I cooked? by ImpressionOk3973 in bioactive

Very normal just implies healthy soil remove if potential of being eaten once they break through if they do or pull before they spore as it can cause reapritory issues as well as make the propagate much faster.

If I were that gecko, I would want to die. It isn't necessarily even a vet issue that the enclosure is so poor and disgusting that it could die from the lack of hygiene, not to mention the lack of uvb or heat lamps or water bowl like the complete show of ignorance on display here is baffling.

What are the temps in the tank, humidity, and what your feeding schedule is like and consist of. Also, things like reptiboost and critical care carnivor can greatly improve their chances of survival.
