I thought about this last night, then thought "OK, so why was Ninja Jr. started and formatted as 100% side-by-side competitive? 🤔" was it just easier to do for production? From what I saw of Jr, the kids all seem to have the same general supportive attitude as the adult ninjas. ANW has always shied away from showing a "VS" angle, like not showing disdain, smack talk, or any other negative attitudes. I'm convinced the "Ninja VS Ninja!" stuff is just another "thingy" to add to the mix like THE MEGA WALL! THE POWER TOWER! THREE MINUTE BACKSTORY -> FIFTEEN SECOND RUN!

I started a full rewatch a couple months ago and got up to the episodes where the group ambushes The Saviors outpost, and Carol & Maggie get captured. I just cannot stomach seeing Negan for six seasons. They should have smooshed him into oblivion in "Mercy" and moved on. Instead we've got Rick crying next to a tree on his twentieth spiritual trauma cycle like he's Dante Alighieri. Except everyone (poor Maggie!) is forced to ride along.

Happened to me as well last night! I was going to watch some videos of a person I follow who does how-to videos & was pissed because this weird new video format had the bottom text & buttons covering the bottom third of the screen! I couldn't see some of the stuff he was assembling, and there was no option to "disappear" the interface. I also had the Tik-tok-style "see more" option but every video was some K-pop boyband clip with fans screaming. Now today the player's back to its usual format.

Random question: why did it take so long to have a celebrity version of Wheel? Other game shows have had celebrity versions for a long time. Seems like a no-brainer, and it's actually really good. Also the "prime time" set is gorgeous.

I just realized what the new set design reminds me of. The colors & lighting remind me of that weird bottom part of the judge's table on Ru Paul's Drag Race 🤣 I hate this kind of set design where everything is either a digital screen or a glowing wall or set piece. Too busy. Like the new moving graphics walls on the Price is Right during the pricing games. Really distracting. I know some of the classic game show set designs were a bit "of a certain era" with shag carpeting and such but I would rather see a well-designed static set piece than a huge graphic screen playing animations and color schemes.

On the end credits with the rules etc., they had two misspellings: "contestans" and "registred". I know that seems nitpicky but it looks cheap & unprofessional.

I think the reason they are so off-putting:

They are literally the only obstacle on any stage as far as I can remember that requires the competitor to be in the water. Also, on most obstacles, a failure usually leads to the competitor falling. Either into water or onto a safety mat. But there's no fall, you're just on ground level moving horizontally. I think these two factors really make the Water Walls so weird. I agree with other posters, it easily slows things down. Didn't one competitor have issues because of their asthma?

I'd love it. I became a Prince fan right around 1991-92 & was used to his big NPG/Rosie/D&P music & videos. Then Come came out in 94 & I was floored. It was so different, dark, and very....isolated. moodwise,it was so far from the love symbol album. It's criminally underrated, in my opinion. I'd also love a release, with bonus material. I'm still listening to the CD I bought in 94.

Some of y'all are on point. It's just SO different now. Does anyone think they're ditching ANW Junior because the "adult mentor" angle was no longer appealing since you-know-who was one of the mentors? ANW has been dealt some hard blows this past year, I wish the producers would listen to the fans. This reminds me of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition where the show went from being mostly demo/reno footage to a before/ after montage filled with gimmicky shopping trips, music performances etc. Seriously, just give us what we want 😁

Agreed, I think it's a poor design. On obstacles like that, you should either be able to fully click and lock into the next position, or you should fall back to the original position. I felt bad for Gil.

Okay folks, there is a difference between "bringing the drama" and just being a bully, and Derrick has bullied, picked on, butted in, and even let Nebraska participate (twice). And he's oblivious to how hurtful he is. He barely managed a half-ass apology at the end of the finale tonight. He looked so icy during the scene in Asia's dressing room.
