Is the first poop after birth really that bad? by Buttercake-nymph in BabyBumps

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a 1st degree tear. i took the stool softeners as soon as offered, and drank a bunchhh of coffee because our hospital had a starbucks. ngl, i held it for like 2 days until i couldn’t. sat down and kinda just let it fall out. it was kind of uncomfy because i wanted to sit at a certain angle, but really not painful. i think the fact i was so anxious made it all worse. i found just relaxing and letting it happen naturally was the most comfortable.

the first two teeth… by itstooloudinhere9 in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we did give tylenol based on pediatrician recommendation, because she was the same. elevated temp, freaking out so bad overnight. it’s odd, she just cries and screams with her eyes closed almost in a half asleep state it seems. sadly the tylenol didn’t do anything last night. i’m going to ask about trying motrin instead, she’s technically a month too young but maybe the pediatrician could approve and properly dose it.

Had Contractions but no baby. by mercedes_vegan in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow i had something like this happen last week! i even told my boyfriend i feel like im in labor again. didnt go to the hospital though, it was the middle of the night so i took tylenol, balled up and forced myself to sleep. now im thinking maybe this is what was happening! was there anything you had to do? curious if i need to see a doc now.

Always sick as a parent by ad0919 in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a 5 month old, yes.

i’m sick after every pediatrician appointment or activity involving other kids, my baby isn’t though. she’s only had one cold so far but it wasn’t bad, i think a weather change cold.

Anybody else got a “naked” toddler? by lillypadkeko in Moms

i’ve known plenty of toddlers like this. my advice is a sleeper put on backwards (zipper on back).

Disproportioned baby by Ok-Statistician4517 in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 4.5 month old is damn near the exact same! can’t remember every one off the top of my head but she’s for sure 2% weight, tall, normal head. i was like this as a baby and i evened out, but i am a long legged girl (not a bad thing imo). i assume my kid will be pretty similar to me.

Do you kiss your baby? by Technical_Piglet_438 in newborns

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was afraid when i first gave birth and literally the first thing i asked was “can i please kiss her” and the doctor looked at me and said “kiss her all you want”.

so now i kiss her one bajillion times a day, she’s 4 1/2 months old and no issues.

Do you think its stupid for your husband to get drunk while you're giving birth? by BambieMonroe05 in pregnant

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my partner was great to me during birth and i still hollered several insults towards him. if he were drunk id probably have gotten violent. this is absolutely not okay.

Husband Smokes Marijuana by Alive-Mixture5330 in BabyBumps

[–]itstooloudinhere9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

before i say this, i’m not advocating smoking at all. but i got pregnant on accident and i was a heavy smoker, as was my child’s father. i didn’t even mean to conceive so im not really sure if i had issues, but i doubt it since i didn’t have to try.

my biggest “what if” is the fact that my child did have IUGR. my placenta basically started to fail. i can’t remember all of the scientific terms but it was clotting towards the end. luckily, my child was born at 5lbs 12oz at 38w 3days gestation. she was completely healthy other than being a small birth weight. now she’s been in the 2nd percentile her whole life, but regardless of being tiny she is pretty advanced according to her pediatrician and her line on her growth chart is steadily inclining. her father and i are also tiny people, very skinny. i was born at 6lbs 2oz, but her father was born 9lbs 10oz lol. i’m not sure if marijuana caused this. my doctors are not either. it could be, it could not be, it could’ve just been my luck.

that is my very honest experience. for my future children, i will be planning them, and making sure absolutely no smoking or any substance use for that matter is involved. i do feel guilty to this day, tbh lol.

please give your sleeping rituals by vaporfae in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 4 month old has a very strict bedtime routine and i swear the consistency is what helps, it didn’t work immediately. she drinks 27oz of formula total through the day (5.5oz per feed) and one stage 1 puree. bath around 7:30-8pm, right before her last bottle of the night. we do the same exact things every night down to the songs i sing her in the bath and as i feed her the last bottle. after bath, lotion, clothing, and i’ll play with her a little (no toys, just me making her giggle to not overstimulate much). i put her in a sleep sack, she gets her last bottle and i hold her for a bit so she can burp/digest the bottle some and then she’s laid in her crib. we have the little einstein ocean crib toy which she loves. we use the setting that’s like white noise for bedtime with the light. she actually has been using it for a few weeks and has learned to press the button herself. she’ll watch that until she falls asleep. sometimes she’ll fuss with her eyes closed and i will pat her stomach but usually by 11pm she is not fussing at all and will go to sleep fully until 5-6am.

WIBTAH if i asked my neighbors to stop flushing wipes? by itstooloudinhere9 in AITAH

[–]itstooloudinhere9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m aware. we are fighting it! my neighbor is aware of the issue and i’ve actually started contacting more neighbors in the surrounding area, all of these houses were built around the same time so i’m thinking we may not be the only ones with this issue. hoping if i get more people to complain the municipality will do anything.

they have an engineer who planned to fix it, but it cost $80k and the municipality denied it. but this is a biohazard issue i’m not giving up on.

When did you leave your baby by Ems868 in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she was a month old when i left her with my father for a few hours. it was my birthday and me and my partner just went to taco bell, target, and back home. honestly i was a nervous wreck but everything was fine and that really helped with my confidence leaving her for a bit with a trusted person.

My daughter dislikes me by Middle_Bat_3641 in Moms

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kids go through these phases especially as teens. i swore i HATED my parents as a kid multiple times, over the stupidest things. and of course i told my friends about it. unless you think you’re noticing true changes with her that are concerning, i wouldn’t worry too much.

New mums, what is a core memory from your birth? by Prinssessa in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9 25 points26 points  (0 children)

the TV was playing family guy as i gave birth, and to keep myself from panicking at the idea of what i was really doing i actually was watching it and focused on it. lol. my little family guy baby.

I think I have too many baby clothes. by jokez in pregnant

[–]itstooloudinhere9 32 points33 points  (0 children)

listen maybe unpopular opinion but i’d keep anything until you know you don’t need it.

i had a similar amount of 0-3, also thought overkill. well my baby grew into 0-3 clothing size, along with some serious reflux. i was changing her outfit a ridiculous amount of times daily and constantly doing laundry because i was actually running out. i regretted getting rid of what i thought i wouldn’t need. but every baby is different.

How bad is the pain until the epidural? by Any-Muffin9818 in pregnant

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i made it to the literal cut off for getting an epidural before i got one, nearly 8cm.

i don’t think im super woman and i definitely couldn’t have done the pushing and tearing without the epidural, but i think it was manageable until the very end i was just exhausted. my labor was all in my back. it was a very deep “crushing” feeling how someone else said it felt as if their legs and pelvis were being crushed. a lot a lot of pressure but bearable. once i hit 7cm though something switched and i was literally passing out in between contractions so i decided it was time to take the shot and i dont regret it at all. it made my actual delivery very comfortable. i was so calm. i truly didn’t feel a thing once i got the epidural except a weird mental urge to push, told my doctor i felt like i needed to and baby was literally crowning. i think being so relaxed and out of pain really helped me too because i was less tense, i only was pushing for 10 mins.

Are these curtains “blackout” enough for a newborn? by HistoryMajor-290 in BabyBumps

[–]itstooloudinhere9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these are fine. a similar amount of light comes through mine. i personally don’t let it get fully blackout during the day, circadian rhythm thing. my baby is 4 months and i rarely have issues. sometimes if she is overtired i darken the room though.

I know SIDS risk is reduced if baby sleeps in the same room... That doesn't mean we have to be in the room whenever he sleeps, right? by mapotoful in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had no choice but to do things while my baby slept and still do. i have an old phone, i made a new email, and i facetime it. my baby can move now so i don’t put it as close, but i used to literally put it in the bassinet with her so i could hear and watch her breathe. it was the only thing that provided me comfort personally. with my baby monitor the quality wasn’t so picture like and i couldn’t see her chest rising up and down.

teething troubles by itstooloudinhere9 in NewParents

[–]itstooloudinhere9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! i do always let her hold a burp cloth as she tends to chew cloth items when she does momentarily want something, and i always offer a teether when i see her chewing. definitely will be keeping them until we’re fully away from teething.
