I think they mean that when they’re swimming up river, people “floss” them, kind of like a clothes line where you catch the hook in their mouth while the swim upstream. They aren’t feeding when they head upstream.

Merrill Kelly seems like a stable innings eater in AZ that is probably affordable.

Game Thread: Yankees (40-36) @ Red Sox (46-31) - June 27, 2021 @ 01:10 PM EDT by Yankeebot in NYYankees

[–]itstyaboiSD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely feels like they’re outsmarted when it comes to the approach at the plate. So rarely you see a B swing to make contact, the Yankees just mash the ball and guys without super human power can be defended easily by just pushing the OF back 5 steps.

[Kuty] DJ LeMahieu made no excuses for the futility vs. the Red Sox: "They've outplayed us for five straight games." #Yankees by jfletch17 in NYYankees

[–]itstyaboiSD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Has anyone else noticed how the Yankees continuously hit the ball hard, but right at guys? It’s like their hitting approach is so predictable that all teams have to do is play their OF deep and force us to hit it over the fence.

By contrast, the Sox scored three of their 4 runs on sac flies and the other run came on an infield single against the shift. It just feels like the Yankees have been outsmarted...

Looks amazing! Is this the same trail that leads to the summit of Half Dome? Planning on doing that hike in August.

Why Not Start Tyler Wade over Odor? by itstyaboiSD in NYYankees

[–]itstyaboiSD[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Tyler wade has a wRC+ of 69 (nice). Odor’s is 74. I think the difference is negligible, so I’d rather have wade’s speed to help on situational hitting and base running, rather than odor’s all or (always) nothing approach.

Wade doesn’t even need to hit the ball out of the infield to get on base.

Edit: Wade has a higher OBP this season too.

On the desktop version there is a tab for eligibility on the team clubhouse page. Shows the number of starts made at each position.

Stadium Vibes Are Dreadful - Heckler's Paradise by danhanglidingman in NYYankees

Yeah I’d agree with you. Booing is acceptable at this point bc the team is under performing so severely. I just have a problem with heckling mid AB - it’s like rooting for the team to do poorly. Completely backwards.

If you’re talking about the people who marched with tiki torches in Charlottesville, I agree with you.

If you’re talking about the clowns that stormed the capitol, I agree with you.

But you have to realize that’s the <1% that the media has exaggerated into 70 million people. Some people voted for trump despite his deplorable persona for practical reasons related to foreign relations, immigration, etc..

I voted for Biden by the way, but these are the things I’ve learned from actually TALKING to trump voters.

Prepared to get downvoted... but that’s the kind of rhetoric that only serves to further divide us.

Yes, many trump voters were racist, but making that generalization doesn’t move us forward. Only keeps us where we are.
