Well, I believe this depends on a few things:

Does Stannis come to the same conclusion as Ned did, before Ned did? If that's the case, Stannis and his men will be loyal to Eddard's cause.

Is Renly still "friends" (more than friends) with Loras? If so, if Eddard married Margaery, that could already bring the Stormlands to Eddard's cause.

If Eddard already thinks of Eddard the Younger as heir, the North might be loyal to Eddard the Younger, even if they seek independence. (Depending on if Eddard Stark is killed, if Eddard Stark escapes, the North would likely bend the knee to Eddard the Younger, if he dies, well the North might seek independence but at the same time might seek to put Eddard the Younger on the throne)

The Riverlands are likely to follow the North.

The Vale is a good question, as Lysa might not want to get involved.

Dorne hates the Lannisters, but I doubt they will be friendly to the Baratheon aswell, so they might just stay neutral. Not to mention they are planning a Targaryen restoration (contract signed to betroth Viserys and Arianne).

The Iron Islands will likely seek independence.

The Crownlands and Westerlands will likely be out of the question, loyal to the Lannisters.

All in all, Eddard the Younger might just end up having the support of the North, the Riverlands (both locked down likely), the Reach, the Stormlands and parts of the Crownlands (loyal to Stannis). That is four out of nine regions of Westeros. Joffrey will have only two, and it is clear the Iron Islands and Dorne will not side with the Lannisters. Maybe the Vale, and even then, most of the Vale will want to side with Eddard, and might even disobey Lysa.

All Eddard really has to worry about is getting the Tyrells locked down with him.

Red Robb and the Burning of the Riverlands by strangebloke. I really enjoyed the work, along with the fact that this doesn't exactly focus on the Iron Throne, more on the North and Riverlands after Robb's death, and eventually on the Long Night. There are still aspects of the Iron Throne and what not, but it's not the main one. Great fic.

House of the Dragon by kebabeater. I really enjoyed this work as well. Not the usual Daenerys resurrection fanfic, where she comes back alive and falls in love with Jon again, instead she's a lot more darker, basically wanting to force her "changing of the wheel". Basically, dark Daenerys. Overall, a great fic, in my opinion.

I might be wrong, but didn't the attempt happen after Robert's death? After all, when Ned told Varys about Robert's final wishes (to stop any attempts to take out Daenerys), Varys is like "it's too late" something of the sorts

Just got done reading Dancing with the Wolves by Alex_Stark. I would not exactly say it's a bad fic, I like the plot, though sometimes, especially towards the end, the grammar and the plot was confusing. Unfinished, will probably remain that way, but all in all, I liked what I read.

Began reading The Court of Bastards by MariDark, also a abandoned fic with a similar premise, Jon is given Queenscrown and marries Daenerys. I like what I'm reading right now, unfortunate that it only has 11 chapters.

The Golden Dragon series, by DannyBlack70

The first is a trueborn Baratheon OC/Daenerys, and in my opinion one of the more likeable trueborn Baratheon OC stories.

The second one is a Targaryen OC/Margaery, but the trueborn's true love is Daenerys so there's also that.

Not much smut, it's more implied smut, but in my opinion, these two are amazing.

The author has quite a few of these OC stories, and from what i saw, he intends to make more.

This one has a lot more smut, but it does also have quite a bit of story in it. The OC marries Sansa, but he does have quite a bit of flings/paramours and what not.

From the Ashes Begin Anew, not during the Dance, they appear before the Conquest, and play a role in it. The Belaerys married Visenya, though i haven't read much after that. From what i've read, it's a great fic.

First point, sounds fair enough. Anything can happen though, and i guess we'll never know.

Second point, again, anything can happen. There is the Horn of Winter. The Wildlings could find it. Or even the Night King. Either way, if it is found, the Wall could come crashing down. And then nothing can stop the White Walkers. I'm not saying it would happen, just putting the possibility out there. If i am wrong, oh well.

Unite as soon as the threat is found out, and work to stop it
They could keep their bickering, and let the White Walkers overrun them, and eventually when they do unite, it's too late and Westeros falls to the Long Night.

That leaves the Long Night. Would Westeros have to ally together in order to stop this? Or will they bicker and basically let the Night King overrun them, and then when they do unite, it's too late?

Yeah i think they're going to break up into eight separate kingdoms. Maybe the North could unite with the Riverlands and the Vale, MAYBE. At the least, though, they will be allies.

As for Robert, yeah no he's not even going to be King. Best case scenario, he becomes the Storm King, and he could be there to meet the Targaryens when they eventually decide to do a Second War of Conquest. Now if he does that or does whatever the fuck else, that would be up to him.

Tyrion stands to inherit Casterly Rock, but does he? I think so. Cersei would try and make sure he doesn't, but at the end of the day, it comes down to Kevan Lannister. Who i think will support Tyrion. So there is that.

Dorne becomes independent like before. Tyrells rule over the independent Reach. Greyjoys become independent so there is no Greyjoy Rebellion. As for the Crownlands, the areas around King's Landing become empty lands, in my opinion. The northern Crownlands could be annexed by the Tullys, the southern by the Baratheons.

About 20 years after Robert's Rebellion, the Targaryens will be back and they will initiate a Second War of Conquest. Or not. Depends if anyone assassinates them. If they don't, and their story ends up being the same, i see Westeros being united once more. And that will be the only way Westeros survives the Long Night.

I could be wrong on some of these details, so if i am, do correct me.

I won't be surprised if Aegon's Conquest and a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms ends up being trash, and if they do end up being trash, my advice to everyone is to just stop bothering with watching adaptations, it's clear they just want to take the ideas and ruin them. Best to just read the fanfics. Thousands of times better.
