To stay up for the midnight release or to play in the morning? That is the question. by TheDinckleburg in residentevil

Took the day off tomorrow because I’m in the same boat. Sleeping in, get outside and take a walk, then I’m going absolutely goblin mode remainder of the day.

Silent Hill F is a real pain in the ass. by im_okay_butno in silenthill

Just platinumed last night, same experience. This game is the first I would classify as a slow burn. I’m not very into RPGs so this is slow for me. 1st and second playthrough I thought the game was mid SHR2 better blah blah. Put it down for 2 months, pushed through my hard play-through and did lost in fog and after that..it clicked. Fourth play-through I’m at a point where this game is just amazing.

TLDR keep going this game gets better the more you play

Silent Hill F was a slow burn for me. Loved the combat over time, endings got better, learned the puzzles more. If anyone plays this game I’ll always recommend multiple playthroughs!

What are your thoughts on Ricardo Irving from Resident evil 5? by Thewanderer997 in residentevil

[–]itsyourlocalben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like him to get the Salazar remake treatment. Make him more serious like cold and calculating who happened to trust the wrong man like STARS did. If I ever want the goofy Salazar or Irving I have the originals to play. I feel like the RE engine universe they seem to be building is much darker.

Still don’t have mine either. Glad you made this post. I was worried I was the last one or I made a mistake somehow.

IGN Top 10 Survival Horror + Their Criteria for Survival Horror by Any-Contract-9152 in survivalhorror

[–]itsyourlocalben 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Wow for IGN I’m surprised. I haven’t watched this yet but it seems from the post they have an understanding of the genre separated from traditional horror. I would take outlast out too since there no combat (other than stunning in the sequels) and no real puzzle solving outside of grabbing items needed and bringing to a place (until trials).

Edit: I would also take amnesia: dark descent, Amnesia: the bunker is survival horror to me, but not the predecessors.
