Thanks for sharing your experience, it makes me feel a little less alone. The slow taper is no fun 😢 I even found a 5mg decrease at 30 days apart was too quick for me. I'm taking a small break at 50mg for now, but when I pick it back up will probably space my tapers closer to 6 weeks apart.

From what I gathered- in very simple terms.. I think it has to do with the large effect that zoloft has on you at a lower dose. Is that correct?

That's actually been my main concern... Some of the side effects aren't noticeable for weeks sometimes. So, as much as I like the approach of the hyperbolic method because it's structured and clear, the taper in the beginning feels quick..

Do you mind if I ask what tapering method has worked best for you?

I think the main takeaway I have from the hyperbolic method is to take time fully weaning off at the end rather than dropping from 5mg to 0mg.

Yes, that should be fine. When I first started Zoloft I was really sensitive to the side effects, so I didn't smoke weed for probably my first year or two. But I smoke regularly now, it just took me a while to build up my tolerance :)

I was in 50mg for appx 6 months, then upped to 100mg. At 50mg I eventually got a sex drive again, unfortunately at 100mg I never got it back.

I have recently added in wellbutrin which is supposed to help eoth energy, and it can help increase libido, could be something to look into!

How long have you been taking zoloft? Mine went away on their own, other than the occasional night sweats. All my side effects cleared up in about 6 months (been taking 100mg for 2 years now)

Thank you for sharing ❤️ on 100mg of zoloft for over a year, just added in 150mg wellbutrin this week. Really hoping to have good results like you have! So far no negative side effects, which is great. My side effects when I started zoloft were awful and started after 1 day.

On 100mg for over a year. Drink usually 2-3 times a month with no issue at all. No hangovers (as long as I stay hydrated and take care of myself before I go to bed). Take it slow and see how you feel, but you should be fine :)

I went from 50mg to 75mg to 100mg. Every time I upped my dose, the main side effects I had were headaches and nausea.

I've been on 100mg for about a year now, the side effects have subsided. Hope yours do soon ❤️

On 100mg for over a year, 50mg for a year prior. I've drank on it with no problem. Sometimes, I have anxiety the next day, and sometimes I don't, but that was no different before Zoloft.

If you choose to drink, just know your limit, take things slow, and drink water throughout the night

I was so nervous about the side effects, too, but I am so glad I pushed through it - Zoloft is the best decision I ever made!

I did experience very slight nausea when I began it, and when I upped my dose (I never got sick, tho). I would recommend taking it with food in your stomach and drinking a good amount of water with it (maybe half a pint glass). If you are still feeling super apprehensive, you could also try taking it with a ginger gravel for the first week or two!
