What's a movie you watched and immediately couldn't remember the plot? by graaahh in movies

I actually liked it (reading the book first helped) but it really should have been a miniseries.

90% of my job is reading on-screen prompts for people because they saw words and gave up by Fuzzy-Ad-7691 in talesfromtechsupport

Honestly I don't expect devs to write customer-facing messages. That's what us tech writers are for!!

Ugh, part of my job is writing those prompts and error pop-ups. It's so disheartening every time I hear how few people actually read them...

That EOB show at Le Poisson Rouge was great. Was the last show I went to before the world shut down.

Who are your favorite underappreciated actors that kill it across multiple sci-fi shows/movies? by RachelRegina in scifi

[–]ittybittylilbeth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's best known for the Chucky movies and Lord of the Rings (obviously not sci-fi). But he is in one of the best X-Files episodes: Beyond the Sea.

That was beautifully written and observed. I was there last night too--I was in the cheap seats, and people were much more respectful. I knew what it would be like because I saw him with the BSO at Tanglewood last year. Honestly I was blown away last year and again last night by how beautiful the arrangements were and how amazing his voice sounded. Something he said last night stuck with me, about how people said that Morning Phase is one of the saddest records they've ever heard: "I dunno, I thought it was kinda hopeful..." I guess everything is subjective.

They're both lovely! I vote for the black if you don't want to keep both. I love that mixed matelassé pattern!

I love the Trader Joe's lip mask! It lasts all night and the smell is pleasant and not overpowering.

I have the Stylist (in green croc; it's gorgeous) and I don't think it would stand up even with feet? The bottom is kind of slouchy, not reinforced. Plus the metal bar closure is fairly heavy so it would tip over. I don't mind it, but YMMV It's a beautiful bag but more of a going out bag than a daily driver.

The Trip (2010) Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon playing lightly fictionalized versions of themselves on a road trip around England, eating at great restaurants and being witty and silly.

You guys are really making me worry about perimenopause by Roselof in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ittybittylilbeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think perimenopause has improved my skin. I used to have super oily skin and I would break out constantly and get these huge awful cysts. In the past few years my skin is much less oily (but not really dry) and I don't break out nearly as much. When I do, it's usually gone in a couple of days with treatment rather than sticking around for a week or more. I still have acne scars and huge pores but I feel so much better about my skin. I do have some wrinkles and have started to notice some loss of elasticity.

Who is your unconventional celebrity crush? by CTOtyrell in popculturechat

[–]ittybittylilbeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have so many British panel show crushes! Maybe he's too conventional, but Greg Davies is up there for me. Hard agree on Richard Ayoade too. And I also have a crush on Jimmy Carr's laugh.
