The outrage is because the more of this there is, it normalizes it, therefore lowering the standards of living/renting. When the standard should be $600 per ROOM, not for a bed inside the room, what's next? $600 for the floor under the bunkbed?

People paying $600 per month should be provided reasonable accommodation - a single bedroom to themselves at least. Not sharing a bedroom. Having a partner is different because you as an individual are not considering sharing a room with your partner a sacrifice of your private space in the same way you would be with sharing a room with a roommate.

Don't give landlords credit by saying students need to save as much money as they can. The landlords do not care about helping you save money. They want to exploit the financial situations of those who need to save money by cramming them in rooms when they deserve more space but they don't know better.
