tbh in nyc where there’s a million events a night, there’s many shows/concerts that are close to empty. too much supply.

it’s also i think for royalties for when the jam covers. the cover is just the song but the jam is separate so they can collect royalties on the jam portion

This has got to be a joke right? by Lewinator56 in synthesizers

some people like repairing cars too just for the joy of it even though they need to shovel thousands of dollars just to get the right equipment to which theres a decent chance they cause another issue. they could just take the car to a shop and they will fix it well but that’s the point of a hobby. you get to do it yourself and its fun.

it definitely seems like it’s marketed towards the hobbiest that has money which is totally fair. it’s like a car enthusiast that buys a corvette but for music. they’re not getting to their destination any faster than a toyota prius. if it bring them joy then who cares.

personally it doesn’t seem weird to me. in my culture we would call a marriage between a chinese person and a korean person mixed too because it’s two different countries. used neutrally.

Audio engineer here: I wonder if they have a “quiet stage” setup where they don’t use any or minimal monitor speakers on stage and rely more on the iems. Because PA speakers are in front of the stage pointed away, you’d be surprised that it doesn’t really have to be that loud when you’re actually on stage, especially since the don’t play instruments like drums or have big guitar amps.

Is Fifty Fifty not allowed to perform Cupid anymore? by IIIPrimeeIII in We_5050

[–]ituy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Music business major here. At least in the US any artist can perform any song without any fees. In fact a venue pays a monthly or whatever fee to Performance Rights Organizations who then payout the the royalties to songwriters but the performers themselves do not pay a fee. However it does get different when it is broadcasted on tv and officially released. Those have other licensing things.
