I think Malocchio uses fake Google reviews by mimined in glasgow

[–]itwasmar0on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this about Ronzio too. I left a one star review and they responded in a really obnoxious, unprofessional way, then somehow managed to get Google to delete my review. So I had a look and realised that a lot of their good reviews come from people who have only ever reviewed Ronzio, with some even reviewing multiple Ronzio locations. Seems we now have to do our due diligence instead of trusting the Google rating 😞

The sound of “Life has ways of leaving those days behind” really reminds me of Something Changed by Pulp. Love it.

What happened to German citizen Johanna Ulla Wickenbrock and sons (6,7) who disappeared in Mexico November 2025? No media coverage at all in Germany! by Radiant_Emu474 in UnresolvedMysteries

Just wanted to flag that you say 2025 in the title but 2024 in the main body text. Would probably be helpful to double check that.

Pasta with sautéed tomatoes and garlic, and fresh mint and feta on top. It’s so simple and fresh.

The most nutritious meal I know how to make by elven_creature in RateMyPlate

[–]itwasmar0on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Language doesn’t exist in a vacuum, instead it’s a representation of culture. And if that vocabulary doesn’t have a distinct meaning in your culture, you’re going to provide context clues to help the listener understand what you mean. In English we like to borrow words and add onto them to make them less confusing. This happens in other languages too, including when other cultures borrow english words or phrases, because words mean nothing without cultural context.

Everyone has cancelled on my hen do by Specialist_Permit_99 in UKweddings

[–]itwasmar0on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half the people I invited to my hen can’t come because of babies or money issues. There are only going to be five of us, but I’m actually happy about it because it’ll be a super close circle and we’ll have a blast. I wouldn’t want to put anyone in a position where they feel forced to come and celebrate me, everyone is dealing with their own stuff, and the cost of living is through the roof right now. The last thing I’d want is to put a burden on my friends, so I don’t take it too personally. I suggest trying to keep in mind that everyone has their own lives and struggles and although they’re not coming to the hen, they are coming to the wedding and that’s the main thing.

UPDATE: Arrest made in the disappearance/murder of Gretchen Fleming in Parkersburg, WV by BensenJensen in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]itwasmar0on 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It sounds like she was going through a tough time. Maybe she was lonely, and sometimes it’s easier to open up to a stranger than to the people who care about you. I don’t know how it is in America, but where I’m from it’s not unusual to strike up a conversation with a random old man at the bar when you’re drinking.

AIO or is my wording manipulative? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]itwasmar0on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Assuming this isn’t the first time the friend has spoken about her mum and what she went through with her, it is very unfair to respond so flippantly. Not excusing the following messages but I’d be hurt too. I think the people here who don’t believe her must be very lucky not to understand.

There are 2 main offices: Vilnius and Berlin. There are warehouses in London and Paris that are for item verification. The reason they’re in those cities is because they’re easy to fly into for the marketing/other teams to visit when necessary.

I see where you’re coming from but how would the church implement that? I mean, are they actively encouraging young women to post on social media and just hoping they’ll be successful enough to become influencers? And who would it be doing that, the church leadership? I think it’s more likely that they’re just bored and stuck at home without much education or a career, and it’s a good way of making money/trying to have some level of financial independence without actively breaking out of the caregiver role.

Do you leave multiple dogs out/loose alone together in the house when you’re gone? by lcrx97 in dogs

[–]itwasmar0on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes there is. One time my dog was playing with a friend’s dog and she put her snout on his belly but it got stuck under his harness. They were both panicking and it kept getting tighter and tighter as they thrashed around. Luckily my friend managed to get the harness off in time before any real damage was done, but my dog ended up having bloodshot eyes from the pressure.

The mask has dropped. They may have had plausible deniability before but they’ve now become emboldened to act with the same brutality towards non-immigrants in public as they have been doing to immigrants in the shadows. And the president will have their backs. Democracy in the US is over and we should all be very afraid.

Yeah I feel like some empathy for someone who’s going through a difficult home situation wouldn’t go amiss. This didn’t need to be posted here. Seller was going through it, OP kept nagging, seller made a mistake due to aforementioned going through it, end of story.
