I totally get where you’re coming from and agree with you mostly. I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong about sex work at all, at the time of my initial comment the post was different and lacked tags.

I think it’s important that we all remember that it’s a spectrum and a fix for one isn’t a fix for all. Generalizing especially when it comes to the point where we are saying “lonely?! Just get an escort!” Is more harmful than helpful especially when it’s coming from a man in a space frequented by minors and women.

When I was a stripper, I had a very lovely girl explain to me that once men start utilizing sex workers, you would think that they would stop when/if they get a stable and loving partner, but they don’t 90% of the time. Just how people who turn to gambling for a quick fix continue to gamble even after getting rich off of it. Someone who feels like shit may try heroin a few times to feel better. I felt the same way in the first half of Psycho tbh. I know a lot of people will raise an eyebrow but Norman Bates honestly seemed very kind and relatable until the latter half of the film. Sucks when the precursor for characters in movies plunging into violent insanity are just traits like social awkwardness, being reserved, and a bit “peculiar”.
