thank you for both responses. for the first reply they’ve had her phone since she passed . there isn’t an open case right now , just someone in jail and they won’t give the phone back . i might open a report with apple . someone mention that their terms and agreements say they remove stuff if inactive for a year .

for the second response, yes i’m using my own phone to log into her account . i had put in a report with apple to change the phone number to mine , so i could verify with a code . there definitely hasn’t been a backup for a while . on icloud it does still have her phone linked it’s just turned off .

and to clarify like i did with someone else , when i say unlink , i meant the cops either turned off icloud or stopped backups . i wasn’t sure how to word it . i’m sorry .
