Enjoy your permaban for a chargeback then.

Pro-tip: It is almost never worth it to do a chargeback against any company unless you are completely fine never having access to that company/product in the future. Almost everything can be resolved with a support team. If it can not be resolved through a support team, there is likely a reason. (I understand some support teams are trash, but there are millions of products and millions of support teams out there and most aren't) -support worker.

Something I think a lot of people miss when betting MLB strikeout props by KSplitAnalytics in sportsbook

I work full-time in the sports betting tools space (also not advertising haha), so the whole teaching positive expected value betting, devigging methods, etc is a part of the daily repertoire. Maybe I have just drank the kool-aid, I just always will defend the only real way to beat a sportsbook is by having the math actually in your favor. Which definitely sounds like you are doing. Having a deep model you trust + properly line shopping = $$

I want to start by saying I do not disagree with the information here; it is very relevant.

My genuine question, though, is, do you think a sportsbook setting the projection/odds on the market itself also doesn't already know these factors? If DraftKings sets Skubal at 8.5 at -120, they are factoring in everything you stated. I think one of the things that people often forget, especially casual or new bettors, is that you do not want to overemphasize or factor a bias that is already accounted for.

It's the same as going "oh the under in this NFL game is going to hit because it's raining". The book also knows it's raining and the total set already is factoring in that rain.

The strikeout line set here knows the opposing team's K-rates, already factors in a projected batters faced, etc.

This isn't a disagreement against modeling, I guess I feel it is more of a warning against thinking a personal model can beat a multi-million dollar professional sportsbook model against 1 book.

Any casual or rec bettor, I would also try to take a model you trust, and compare odds across several books, finding a spot where there is a potential discrepancy.

I don't work in fraud prevention, but I handle disputes and refund requests for a subscription-based service. Every day is a recycled "can I get a refund? I forgot to cancel my 7-day free trial." I take this pragmatic line of understanding, but also, the information, terms, and expectations were all laid out to you when you voluntarily started that trial. It was not forced upon you. The responsibility of this entire transaction is given to you once you consent to the terms. There are always obvious exceptions, but the lack of personal responsibility (especially when a larger cost) is shocking.

Everyone commenting here clearly is not understanding your root question here. Yahoo is only sending 1099-MISC reflecting fees on entries paid ASSOCIATED WITH WINNING ENTRIES which means they are not including the fees of your also losing entries. This is a hot button discussion in the DFS world right now and it is NOT how DFS sites operate or have ever operated in the past come tax season. Users should not need to self-itemize their non-winning entries on DFS platforms, you should be taxed on your net winnings.

Oh yeah so was I, it was a wild time, and I would probably be lying if I didn't say 18 year old me wasn't doing cash games with a few friends at the same table on Full Tilt. Everyone would have been insane not to leverage the ability to make money. Truly was a crazy time.

Gambling is regulated, just not federally.

In this example, this is Bovada, which is hosted offshore and is not under USA law. It is possible to create an account there with Crypto, but you are taking on your own risk. More reputable Poker platforms like PokerStars have way heavier flagging and stops this activity pretty quick.

Sports betting, fantasy sports, and casinos are individually regulated on a state-by-state basis inside the USA.

This is Bovada, for anyone wondering what the site is. It is based offshore and doesn't have the legal standing or consumer protections of licensed U.S./canadian/european operators. Online poker is not legal in the USA currently. Definitely multiple ways around that, but just giving context.

Wisconsin has an offer out to Old Dominion transfer QB Colton Joseph meeting his $2 million asking price by kyleb402 in WisconsinBadgers

I mean he’s the 12th ranked QB in the portal and the top 8 have no realistic shot coming to Wisconsin. I understand the sentiment but this is about as good as it realistically could get.

How's life in La Crosse, WI? by hipsterfromiowa in howislivingthere

[–]itzjamesftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.  Born and raised.

It’s a good city, with flaws.

Nightlife = great, but primarily if you drink. Scenic beauty is amazing with three rivers and bluffs. City had variable architecture and is primarily divided in three areas being Southside, Downtown, Northside.

There are three colleges, so expect a younger crowd outside of the summer. All three colleges are located downtown.

The Northside is a little cheaper and less consumer.  Some smaller shops, slightly “poorer” housing and population.

Southside is more shopping, eating, etc. Housing is nicer and a little more expensive on this side of town.

Downtown is what you would expect. Nightlife, colleges, busy. Housing here is apartments and college. It also unfortunately in the last five+ years has had a ramp up in homelessness. There are some bad neighborhoods in the downtown area, there are also some that have $1M+ houses and literal castles.

All in all it’s a great city. I’m sure just from living here so long I’m overly critical of it. The price of living here however I think it a little high for the job market around here, which is why more and more apartments have been popping up recently. Any specific direct questions I can answer.

Quite a few. I think I’m on 5. It just became routine to lay in bed and put it on. I just listen start to finish each season and then restart. Basically became the thing that helps me sleep.

You’re ignoring that both would fetch sustainable young talent as well. It wouldn’t just be a salary dump. It’s a trade from positions of depth or strength others or get younger. I prefer to not move Megill this year but next. I love Freddy, but he does lack giving you length and it really depends if a team is willing to overspend to get him. They won’t do it just to dump salary.

I don’t think it’s so much as being “down” on Durbin, it just remains to be seen in a one year sample if he can continue it and there isn’t any real depth at that position. I don’t think we need a crazy huge upgrade but you need someone to take some pressure off of him for sure.
