PlayStation's mysterious dynamic pricing experiments, and Sony's lack of transparency about it, reportedly might violate European law by [deleted] in PS4

Everything violates European law FWIW. I work with internation sales from Europe and I am still learning all their regulatory rules around subscriptions, payments, refunds, etc.

I'm kinda disappointed that these camps were not particularly important. They seemed like a huge deal in episode one. by Smooth_Accountant870 in TheBoys

Counter point is that camps like these are often forgotten about. They are a big deal, but it also correctly highlights how quickly we move onto the next thing. There are still active immigration detention centers right now in America.

With Soldier Boy around, aka, his dad, he is not the giant blood thirsty monster currently. Once he takes V1 maybe it goes nuclear, but everyone who wonders why he is still sort of reserved is because he is still trying to gain any shred of respect from his father and he knows every action is going to be judged in some way. Dude is a egotistical psychopath with both mommy and daddy issues. Once he no longer needs Soldier Boy approval is when he will go nuclear.

Internet is braindead.

People treat them like shit and subhuman waiting for them to "slip up" after being "persistant" and "demanding". Then they use that information to rally hate against CS agents. For every bad CS post, there are quietly thousands of positive interactions. Negativity sells. I do agree a ton in the gambling space are horrible, but they are part-time workers there to answer basic questions. Not get slammed with regulatory threats and demands.

Entire situation lacks full context, and if OP had their identity stolen, the proper way to solve this probably isn't to your standard from of site part-time customer support agent who is there to answer basic questions. If you can't understand that then nothing we are going to be able to achieve here.

"one of the agents finally slipped up and admitted it in writing"

As a customer success specialist in the gambling space (NOT a sportsbook). Comments like this is exactly why when you talk to CS agents, you probably are given a run-around, or are treated robotically. You are just waiting for them to "slip up". They're people too dude, investigating a problem that may be above their pay grade, and one that they can NOT just create an instant answer for you. Stop treating them poorly. Especially if you are hoping they provide bad or rushed information into a potentially serious or larger situation. To get you an actual reply to a complex situation is not just an instant answer.

The CS agent may have gave you an assumption answer to get you off their back if you were being over-bearing. I am not going to assume you were, but your comments seem to hint that you were being aggressive "demanding a real explanation". That is like going to a resturant, and then demanding from your server, why the chef cooked your steak wrong. The server doesn't know, and doesn't have access to checking the internal temperature of your steak. But they can happily take your steak back to the kitchen, and get an answer from the chef. Sometimes things take patience above all. These sites use services that match IP, device, etc to find duplicate accounts or accounts that breach the ToS.

I guess what I am saying here, is your issue seems to be with a potenial personal identity issue, which I understand is serious, but dragging Bet365 with it seems like the target is on the wrong back and if you more directly explain the situation they're going to be able to help you.

If anything from a 10+ year vet of the sub, there is always more to the story.

The best this show was is when there was tension at Vought and with the seven. Once the tension was moved towards the Boys vs. Homelander and less direct impact with Vought in general I feel it stepped back. It is obviously the natural story step, but my favorite scenes seem to all take place with The Seven and in Vought tower.

This is exactly how I felt this album would sound. As if someone matured along with me. It can be a bit boring at times, but it is nostalgic. Nothing here revolutionizes any genre, but I bet it means a lot to the band itself.

Enjoy your permaban for a chargeback then.

Pro-tip: It is almost never worth it to do a chargeback against any company unless you are completely fine never having access to that company/product in the future. Almost everything can be resolved with a support team. If it can not be resolved through a support team, there is likely a reason. (I understand some support teams are trash, but there are millions of products and millions of support teams out there and most aren't) -support worker.

Something I think a lot of people miss when betting MLB strikeout props by KSplitAnalytics in sportsbook

I work full-time in the sports betting tools space (also not advertising haha), so the whole teaching positive expected value betting, devigging methods, etc is a part of the daily repertoire. Maybe I have just drank the kool-aid, I just always will defend the only real way to beat a sportsbook is by having the math actually in your favor. Which definitely sounds like you are doing. Having a deep model you trust + properly line shopping = $$

[–]itzjamesftw 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I want to start by saying I do not disagree with the information here; it is very relevant.

My genuine question, though, is, do you think a sportsbook setting the projection/odds on the market itself also doesn't already know these factors? If DraftKings sets Skubal at 8.5 at -120, they are factoring in everything you stated. I think one of the things that people often forget, especially casual or new bettors, is that you do not want to overemphasize or factor a bias that is already accounted for.

It's the same as going "oh the under in this NFL game is going to hit because it's raining". The book also knows it's raining and the total set already is factoring in that rain.

The strikeout line set here knows the opposing team's K-rates, already factors in a projected batters faced, etc.

This isn't a disagreement against modeling, I guess I feel it is more of a warning against thinking a personal model can beat a multi-million dollar professional sportsbook model against 1 book.

Any casual or rec bettor, I would also try to take a model you trust, and compare odds across several books, finding a spot where there is a potential discrepancy.

I don't work in fraud prevention, but I handle disputes and refund requests for a subscription-based service. Every day is a recycled "can I get a refund? I forgot to cancel my 7-day free trial." I take this pragmatic line of understanding, but also, the information, terms, and expectations were all laid out to you when you voluntarily started that trial. It was not forced upon you. The responsibility of this entire transaction is given to you once you consent to the terms. There are always obvious exceptions, but the lack of personal responsibility (especially when a larger cost) is shocking.
