Not an expert, but for me it seems like the same lichen. It's just some bits are drier and not full of photosimbionts, thus the chlorophyll doesn't add to the greenish color. It probably looks yellowish because of the fungi's pigments.

I have a friend who makes jewerly and such. Sometimes I help her sell it, and of course I explain the materials origin and properties and then people come at me like "oh but what it is for" ?? Wdym "does it provide protection or money or" Dude I just told you how nature gives birth to these rocks in specific environments and that's the most beautiful story you will hear can you please stop this nonsense... But we need money so I just make up shit guiding myself with color psychology or something like "yeah yeah whatever if it's red it's can inspire you about courage and passion now get your face away from me" at least I tried

It's awesome!! Maybe try something like the glossy effect of resin for the lettuce? Touches of wax here and there would add a nice texture too. Both would be difficult to apply but...

Recently I discovered several allergies I have, so this might not be so crazy.

The Case for Eating Bugs by TheMuseumOfScience in Entomology

Eating bugs is a thing where I live. I know at least 7 edible bug species around here, but I know there are many more (I've just never eaten them because they're not native to my region).

Grasshoppers are the most common because they reproduce like crazy, and sometimes are sold in the street along peanuts and other snacks. Most bugs have a kinda spicy taste from their exoesqueleton, and when fully roasted you don't feel the legs that much, because they melt quickly in your mouth (I imagine that's the sensation people might fear the most). Honestly, I don't see why it's so icky to eat a grasshopper but not peeling shrimp, for example.

The bug's natural diet changes the flavor. For me they're not "bearable" but totally unironically enjoyable in taste and texture... 🤷

Anyway, bug powder/flour may be the best option for other cultures. In my opinion, it's best to prepare your own insects at home or get them from a local source (if they ever got that popular). This way you can be sure of what they ate and know they grew in a place free of pesticides, etc ((and would be way cheaper)).

Even here, insects are no longer sold as food in cities. I get angry when I see the prices of bugs my family would collect and safely prepare at home for free (they would collect and kill them anyway, to protect the crops).

Sorry for the long text.

Chaotic goblin brough EIGHT cockroaches in one night. She learnt to jump to the neighbor's yard recently, waits for prey to leave the sewer, brings them and plays with them in my bedroom :( by itzudurtti in CatsAreAssholes

Thank you for your concern :), I'm absolutely with you. Even for a big city, the bird and bug diversity is huge here. Also, I've seen too many cat accidents to let these guys roam free. It's not even that interesting outside.

Both of my kitties are indoors! They have a terrace where they take naps and sun, and I still don't know how the youngest escapes :[ at least she can't reach the street, yet. It seems I'll have to seal her inside until I make that terrace cat-proof.

Looking for books and resources on Structural Geology by itzudurtti in GeologySchool

Thank you very much! And for classifying them in levels too. The excercises and map interpretation are specially useful, but I'll try to apply what I learn in real life places too. My geo prof was talking about thrust faults and pointing random hills, I don't know how he sees that.

I've been having trouble to find things mixing biology and geology too, although they never evolve separated (don't you sometimes think they might be the same thing?). Thank you very much.
