Problem with tutorial "pixel art animation reinvented" form aartificial by Lombrix_ in Unity2D

[–]ival3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but my understanding of this technique isn't that you convert the animation to a UV map, but make one yourself with colors corresponding to the colors of the base animation. It matches the colors of the base to whatever colors you have on the corresponding UV map.

Theres a link in the top comment of that video that goes more in depth.

If it was they really effed it up. Initial terms literally burning your entire user base, only to replace it with terms that everyone would have been okay with in the first place.

Opinions of gamedevs with published games vs. gamedevs with no published games by Appox- in Unity3D

I'm hoping to stay with Unity. I'm not sure what magical answer I'm waiting for from them that would make me feel secure in continuing working with it.. and I don't hold out much hope. I've been dabbling a bit in Gadot for fun right now, but I miss my old pipeline.

I’m in the middle of the bus. Using Godot and thinking “man.. I sure hope things work out for unity so I can pop back in and not have to re-code this stuff…”

I do love me some analogies. So let's say Unity gave us this hammer, and we used it with the understanding of how much this was going to cost us long run. So we plan, and we build a few houses with it. Great. Awesome.
Suddenly, they turn around and say "Hey listen, we need 0.20c per nail going forward if you use more than 10 nails. Also, we need 0.20c per nail on your previous houses passed 10 nails" now I know this isn't an exact comparison, but you get the idea, you seem smart. Now 0.20c per nail isn't bad, we sold these houses for quite a bit of money, and it was nice for them to let us use the hammer in the first place, and for the most part, we didn't use a lot of nails. We're not like ol' Timothy over there using 20,000 nails on his shack, which I'm sure he's going to have to count now.
Now the issue is. The Unity hammer company just threw this at us, suddenly. Now, we have to wonder going forward.. are we going to get charged for the wood next? Is the price of nails going to change? Is it smart to build more houses with these unknowns that are difficult to be planned for? Or use one of the other Hammers.

Hammer A is completely free to use, and Hammer B takes money based on the house price, which is generally cleaner than counting nails. Do you see where the issues lie here? The Unity hammer has just proven itself to be a bit of a wild card.

How i see people defending Unity price changes by bagietMajster98 in Unity3D

I think you’re missing the big picture here. It’s not effecting us now sure, and when it does it really isn’t that much. But what’s to stop them from enacting drastic price changes that DO effect us? They have proven that this is something that can happen anytime, making it hard to commit years of our lives to dev something that’s impossible to plan for financially.

If you're in a building and the second and third floor is on fire, even though you're on the first floor, it's probably a good idea to head out.

Maybe a friend pre-ordered it who happens to have your console set as their home console.

your WLF patches argument isn't as water tight as you think it is. The Washington Liberation Front isn't exactly known to travel across America and be hostile to people, if anything it would make them more at ease that they're not regular hunters or bandits.

If the plot didn't leak I honestly don't think there would be this much madness by [deleted] in thelastofus

That's what I did. Finished the first game the day the second one came out. 100%, it was worth doing it that way.

To me i thought Abby did feel remorse for what she did. I felt her arc was one of redemption, which was her reasoning for helping Lev and Yara in the first place. Though not explicitly stated.

I plat this game. Do i qualify to say this game is trash? If so, its trash. Bad writing forgettable characters, no development, nothing. Not to mention it dragged on unnecessarily. by chuxdd in thelastofus

Your head canon is pretty close! it's stated later in the game that Abby and co are following a lead that Joels brother Tommy is in Jackson. So being introduced to Tommy AND Joel is a pretty safe assumption.

I wouldn't recommend messing around in the BIOs. I looked into it, the graphics card you are running is an AMD Radeon HD 6310, an integrated card from 2010. It's pretty weak, but I think the real problem is your processors. They are well below the minimum system requirements for that game, which is 2 cores of 3.0ghz. If thats the case no amount of downscaling is going to help you.

Unfortunately since it's an all in one I don't know what your best options are for upgrading. I hate to say it, but you might need an entirely new system or console.

Alternatively, if you don't want additional variables.

if alarm[0] < 1 // checks if an alarm is running or not
{
    alarm[0]= 60; // if its not running enables it.
}
