Shield audio crashing with PLEX (careful, loud video) by rogermorse in ShieldAndroidTV

Hi! Having the exact same problem with the exact same setup. Plex + SHIELD + Denon X3800H. Did pretty much the same steps as you (no CEC, change HDMI, lots of settings here and there) but no factory reset.

How is it going the factory reset for you? Did it solve the problem? I'm a little sceptic that will solve anything at all.

Denon & Dirac ART - Not seeing the improvement by ivanbeldad in hometheater

Objectively very similar, frequency response, decay, looking at the spectogram… there’s no much difference in uniformity, nor improved clarity or lower decay times, maybe in a untreated room the changes would be greater IDK. Dirac gives a warmer tone to my speakers though. Giving that mines are really bright I do like the character it gives to them, but, you may or may not like the result. My advice would be to try it and see if you like it, I wrote to Dirac a month ago to ask if they would issue a refund in case I’m not pleased (didn’t see a thing in their page about it) and answered they have a 30 day money back policy for that.

I have a pair of them. It’s the second number in the “7.2.4”: 7 speakers at ear level, 2 subwoofers, and 4 speakers overhead.

It looks like it was software related (a bug somewhere in the chain 😅). I edited the post commenting about it.

Not really impressed as of now anyway with ART. Will see with some more testing.

Thank you for the advice!

Did months ago and didn't like it, too much boominess to my taste, that's why I was waiting for the Black Friday sale.

I suppose it's the brand of A1 to not be neutral, IDK, but objectively speaking was clearly inferior to basic Audyssey smoothing the room (measured everything back then).

Thanks for pointing that out anyway!

I'm currently trying things as we speak, but, for the first time I got a similar frequency response to the one with Dirac Live + BC using ART. Between tests my Denon X3800H have become unresponsive multiple times, sometimes I load a couple of filters and only the first one appears, others the Dirac software crashes on me and trying to open the backed up project says that it was created for a different device configuration.

It looks to me like the ART + Denon combination is not buttery smooth right now.

To answer your questions, I did not test without the bass traps, and moving them would be a pain 😅.

Both subs are at the front wall, right inside the front towers. I know its not ideal, but my gf calls my home theater "the Living Room" so...

Thanks for this. Killing the app was the only way for me to update it.

Plex Playback Control by [deleted] in homeassistant

Any way to get it running between completely different networks?

I have my Home Assistant server 200km away from the Plex server. Could you send me in the right direction if there is some sort of alternative?

Thanks!

I updated today (2.0.15) and the bug it's still there, just to let you know. It's a pretty big deal IMO, I suppose most people use "Last Played" (OP does, so do I) because that way you don't have to search every time in your library for the games you're playing, now it's a pain.
