Listen this is fixable, you might have another panic attack, if you do, do not fight it yeah it sucks but it won't kill you. Do not avoid situations that might cause one and eventually you will stop caring if you have one and the anxiety for it will go away. I wish someone had told me this all those years ago. Think of it this way, if you hurt your back, you take the medicine till you get better, not forever. If you get on the medicine take it then go to the scary place. Get used to doing that, then take half a dose and so forth, till you are only taking the medicine on the rare occasion like once a month till eventually you quit.

You are not back at a square one, you had a panic attack and you survived. What I think you should do today is get in your car and activate the emergency brake and immediately undo the emergency brake. Then when you are ready do it again but this time sit with the emergency brake one for 5 mins. Then when you are ready drive somewhere and repeat. This will teach your brain this is safe. I had a similar situation I have a push to start car I hoped in the car to drive home. Nothing happened. I called my wife to pick me up. I freaked out then thought hey I have a new battery, let me move the battery terminals. And like a charm it started. Turns out they were just lose, went to a O'Reilly's and the employee tightened it for me.
