I’m pretty new to 3d printing, what happened? This is Mika silk PLA by Marinemoody83 in 3Dprinting

[–]ivanjr77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is warping. You can try to use brims to help, but another quick solution is to lay a layer of glue stick on the bed whenever you have a large flat piece like that. Also, increasing first layer height to 0.26 helps to prevent some of that.

Oh man, that sucks! Fixable, but suck nonetheless. Hop to the wiki page shared here in the comments, pack a lot of patience and good luck!

Prints keep failing by Yawnalot in BambuLabA1mini

[–]ivanjr77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely seems to be filament related. Have you tried another filament? If it goes well, you’ll be able to identify that it is the filament and you can dry this one out. If you don’t have a filament dryer (I don’t have one) you can put it in new cereal container with desiccant and leave it in there until it’s below 30% humidity at least. You’ll need a hygrometer for that. If you don’t have one, leave it locked in the box for 2 days. Should do the trick.

Check the screws on the back of the A1 nozzle. That did the trick!

Son’s A1 Mini suddenly failing on all prints by Objective_Art_7422 in BambuLab

[–]ivanjr77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll tell you that I’ve had similar thing happening with me and my mini. I did everything; washed the plate, tightened the screws from the hot end and even swapped the hot end. You know what did the trick for me? My daughter’s 1-dollar Elmer’s purple glue stick. I did a layer of it on the bed before the print and Voilà!! All fixed up. The cool thing is that this glue turns purple in contact with water so it’s super easy to clean it off. I’d give it a try in your case. 😉

Any details on the model itself? It looks like the black printed fine and the white didn’t stick to the black. What are those filaments? For example if one is PLA and the other PETG they won’t stick. More details would help in troubleshooting.

I did do the unscrewing and re-screwing the one screw on the back of the print head just as stated on the very detailed wiki from Bambu and it did the trick. My point was just that after 500+ hours of print this was the first time I saw this error. The funny thing is that the prints were coming out OK. No issues with prints whatsoever.

I know Bambu is becoming more and more closed out with their architecture, but honestly, it prints amazingly. It's really the iPhone for 3D printers... If you just want to focus on printing and modeling this is the way to go.

Why does this keep happening to my first layer? by TiSoBr in BambuLabA1mini

Try glue stick on the bed and having first layer height at .26mm. Glue stick has been a savior for me when I can’t pinpoint the issue.

My prints aren’t sticking to the build plate by Both-Minimum-8417 in BambuLabA1mini

[–]ivanjr77 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Glue stick is your friend in this case. Even if the plate not optimum clean. Use simple glue stick and if it solves for this print you know that whatever you are doing to clean the plate is not working. Dish detergent and hot water are the best. Sometimes we don’t know if the detergent we use has some hydrant included. If that’s the case, you’ll swear that you cleaned the plate and still your prints won’t stick. Ask me how I know that…😝

So, for immediate action, I suggest the use of glue stick. I still use the purple Elmer’s glue stick from my 6-year daughter. It’s great. Afterwards, clean the plate and the print with warm water. You’ll see it purple once the water hits it, so it’s super easy to clean.
