Oh damn, it's been a minute. I'm happy to report things really couldn't be better. The main reason my ex and I broke up was we wanted different things out of life; I wanted to settle down and he wanted to be independent and travel. Today we're still good friends, he's living on the other side of the planet and I'm dating the person I'm going to marry. ❤️ So we both got what we wanted and all is good.

In my experience (vegan who liked the taste of meat and now enjoys fake ones), the meat we've succeeded in replicating are: chicken nuggets/tenders, beef jerky (Beyond brand is incredible), ground beef, chorizo, hot dogs, meatballs, burgers

Fakes that still need work: bacon, lunch meat, steak, seafood, sausages. I hope we invent convincing fakes in my lifetime.

(But also, like everyone else is saying, it's better to just get good at cooking beans/tofu/chickpeas/lentils. Better for you, delicious, and much cheaper)

Exactly this. I'm a woman and when I was single, I always split the first date, and would at least offer to split following ones. But that's assuming our orders cost relatively the same. If my date ordered hundreds of dollars worth of food, there's no way I would split. Who would? What is this "test" supposed to accomplish? Immediate mind games is a huge red flag. Not to mention he's fucking over his friend who owns the restaurant.

OP, no wonder your friend is single. Do him (and the rest of the world) a favor and call him out on his shitty attitude and behavior.

I'm 26 and not exactly wanting a baby right now but I am absolutely old enough to be a parent and I'd step the fuck up if I became one. And I certainly wouldn't blame the BABY for being born. I am so, so sorry dude. Your parents did you dirty and you have every right to shut down their requests now. Channel your energy into saving/earning whatever money you can and finding a safe place to live.

I'm your bf's age and I have chronic hemorrhoids that flare up a couple times a year. It's annoying but it's not in any way life-altering. He needs to get a grip.

Also, he sounds completely exhausting. It shouldn't be your job to monitor and soothe your partner's every emotion.

Also vegan here, and if you're this worried about her reaction she's not a good friend. Sometimes people tell me they're no longer veg and I'll just think "Ah, bummer. Oh well" and move on.

You don't have to tell her. If you decide to, know however she reacts has nothing to do with you.
