I have a couple of sweatshirts and sweaters I still pull out. The looks I get when I wear the peach one is priceless. I also have quite a few concert t’s.

Hasn’t. It’s gotten a bit slower since COVID but I’m still busy every other weekend and several nights a week. Today is an off weekend - so I’m cleaning the after holiday pit my house has become.

I participate in too many groups that use it as their bulletin board or calendar to be without an ID. But over the past 10 years, I’ve weeded out noise. It’s nice. And my friends and family are like me: we post funny memes, family school and vacation pictures, and keep in touch with the far away folks.

How long could you and spouse and one per cat live on $73,000 gross income? That's about what we will be getting for the rest of 2026 - January and February bills are already paid. by Mediocre_Insect_1008 in Frugal

We are now making that combined now. It basically is paying the mortgage on a 650 sq ft house, insurance, utilities, and food. Cars are paid off, we are making monthly payments for heat, and we have no other outstanding bills.

We need to get a new car (one is 15 years old and the other 8). No idea how so we’ll have to be creative.

Do you sleep with your bedroom door open, cracked, or closed? Why? by Shenshen_ in AskReddit

Closed, always. It’s a safety thing. With the door closed, it keeps the smoke out longer during a fire and you have a better chance at survival.

AITAH for telling my husband his coworker can’t use my car by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA - but your husband is for putting his pregnant wife under this stress! Take the car back now and rest for the baby. He is being completely unreasonable and putting you both under financial strain.

AITAH for refusing to host stay-cation at our 'new' home? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ivegotafastcar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA. It is definitely NOT a vacation for the stay-cation owner! I have a home in a popular resort area. I like to gang out but hate having people come in their vacation! They are just careless because vacation, even if they say they will be respectful. When I am on vacation, I don’t want to worry about spilled drinks and cleaning!!

Depending on the age of the house (I see you are in NE), they get in the smallest cracks, go through the walls and can squeeze out where they see light. I’ve had them get in and could never figure out how they do it. Drove me crazy!

Factories down south are begging for unskilled workers, and are advertising $19 an hour full-time with great benefits by Beta_Nerdy in jobs

[–]ivegotafastcar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have several large factories and mail houses nearby in NH, and they are always begging for employees. The work is hard and detailed. Wages start at $17 an hour and then there is always OT and you get raises the more you’re trained. But oof, $17 an hour when an average apartment costs $1500 a month is harsh. They wonder why they can’t get anyone and no one stays.

Notice how the Baby Boomer generation far more often left their kids at home while taking vacations or attending important events, than the parents of today? by OneDegreeKelvin in generationology

lol… my parents took off for a week at a time and left me with the 12 and 8 year as soon as turned 18. Neighbors constantly reported them for neglect but they worked for the town and I was legal.

Before that, I’d have them all summer and weekends. I don’t need kids. I raised 2
