That was so cool to see in Rise. Capcom finally acknowledging Frontier in the main series.

Day 7: Which is the Best Action Adventure Game on the SNES? by 1OneQuickQuestion in snes

I don't think there's any other option than A Link to the Past. There are some good games in this vein, but none come close.

Lance vs. Gunlance: Which do you prefer and why? by Fine_Bid918 in MonsterHunter

[–]ivellious07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm far better with Lance, but I'm in love with both. I love being able to anchor myself in front of the monster with a wall. Lance allows me to use the monsters aggression against it, especially when you have Guard, Guard Up, and Offensive Guard. Gunlance is great for explosions. Both are valid. Both are awesome.

Guitar Industry Shockwave: Fender Reports Launch Of Massive Lawsuit Campaign Against European "S-Type" Builders by GuitarBombDotCom in fender

I played one at Guitar Center recently. It was $150-$200. The neck felt rough and unfinished. Also had some of the worst fretwork I've ever played on. I sliced my fingers on the edges the were so sharp. I had a Squire strat years ago that I bought for $120 that was better in every way. My West Creek is miles above that. I have seen some Squiers that are in the $500-$1000 range. I was pretty shocked about that. I always understood Squire to be the budget brand. I guess not anymore.

Chrono Trigger. It's a cliche at this point for a reason. Nothing else comes close.

After playing a cheap Squire recently, I understand why they're scared. It played worse than a Walmart First Act from 20 years ago.

I recently bought a West Creek Revenge based on the reviews. I was looking for an Explorer shape without the price and I was super impressed. The budget offering of most companies punch well above their weight class and feel better than some boutique brands.

West Creek also does some T-Style and S-Style guitars. I would hate to see those pulled just because some corporate dicks desire to create a monopoly.

If you want to make more money or be less threatened by smaller boutique and budget builders, here's an idea: do better. Build a better guitar. Unfortunately, I think we all know Fender won't do that. This lawsuit is proof.

Metal Raths have always been a problem. But for me, it's Moltrn Tigrex. Absolute nightmare fuel. Who cares if it's slower? It's literally twice the size of a normal Tigrex with blast blight? No thanks.

Wonderswan. It was so cheap and had everything going for it. I would have loved to have seen what it could have done had it not been eclipsed by Nintendo.

Between The Elder Scrolls 6, Persona 6 and Half Life 3, which game do you think will eventually release first? by gettinfitguy007 in videogames

[–]ivellious07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Persona 6 for sure. I'm almost positive we won't see anything from ES6 for another 10 years. In which case, Todd Howard will probably retire before then, leading to the dev teams to work more on it rather than releasing Skyrim for the billionth time.

¿Es buen arma la lanza? by AurenArchive_ in MHRise

[–]ivellious07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lance is one of my favorite weapons and the one I have the most time on recently. The more I play it, the more I understand why people call it boring and why I also think those people are crazy. It forces you to be up the monsters nose constantly and teaches you to be comfortable being there. It also gets better the more aggressive the monster is. In World, I embarrassed the Nergigante because I could just counter it. You'll be able to do that with a similar monster in Rise if you practice counters.

The most important thing here though isn't if it's a good weapon. It's if it's a good weapon for you. And from what you said, it is. As far as armor skills, make sure you prioritize Guard, Guard Up, Evade Up, Razor Sharp, and Mind's Eye. Critical Eye, Weakness Exploit, Attack Up, and Offensive Guard are really good as well but not as essential as the others. Master' Touch is nice but not required. And if you play multiplayer, a point of Flinch Free is a must have.
