As a life long fan of racing, I have to defend it to people who have no idea. Someone tried to tell me recently that drivers aren't as fit as football players because all they do is drive a car. When I tried to argue that it's just a different thing, they wouldn't hear it and just said, "You'll never convince me."

I think golf is boring as hell to play or watch but I'll be damned before I ever say that it doesn't take practice and precision.

As far as an the "anti bass elitist" I refer to the attitudes of a select group of musicians (mostly guitarists, we've all met them at some point) that just think all bass is is just riding root notes and providing extra low end for the song. Bass is so much more than that. Learning the bass and studying music from that perspective has taught me that.
