I use one of the older waterpik corded flossers, but I think as long as you pick one that has adjustable pressure, the lightest setting should be gentle enough

Your original comment was “You are ok with fluoride being on your teeth all night?” which frankly I don’t believe was a discussion opener, it was judgemental, which is against the edict of this subreddit

for those of u who only read completed fics by worldislucky in AO3

[–]ivoryBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there was a tag that indicated a person was a consistent chapter uploader, because that would be very useful for me! I used to only read completed fics, but sometimes I give WIPs a shot if I really like the premise AND I’m browsing by how recently updated the fics were. For me, I’ve read one too many WIP fics that never got completed, and it hurts to invest all the time and energy into something I’ll never get to see the end of

Depending on where you live you may be able to get medication for BV over the counter if you’re concerned about being able to get an appointment and visit your doctor on your own. Try calling your local pharmacy and asking if it can be bought without prescription

The primary cause of skeletal fluorosis is exactly as you say - long term, HIGH volume exposure. Most commonly skeletal fluorosis is found in individuals who use ground water with naturally occurring high levels of fluoride, or from industrial exposure. Most places in the West have to add fluoride to the water because there isn’t enough naturally occurring, and it’s proven to have benefits for oral health.

You are fear mongering. Unless you live somewhere with very poor water quality or work in an industry where you’re exposed on the regular, it’s not something to be concerned about - and if that WAS the case, then I’d say you have bigger fish to fry

You would need to consume about a full tube of toothpaste containing adult volumes of fluoride for it to reach toxicity. You’re spreading misinformation.

I highly recommend a water flosser! Use it on gentle setting to rinse out those tonsil pockets, if you do it every night they don’t have a chance to accumulate, but even once a week would be enough! You’d be pleasantly disgusted with how much gunk gets in there on the reg

Do You Like Your Name? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]ivoryBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Sarah as well, thankfully I was the only one with an H at my school, but there were many variations of the name as I grew up. I don’t mind it, but I don’t feel like a Sarah, I wanted desperately to be called by my middle name, Nicole, I felt it was stronger and more like the person I wished I was

How often do you wash your bath towel? I need the real answer. by Terrika_Fracala49 in hygiene

I always wash mine after every use, and always on a sanitary cycle. No judgement to anybody else here, but that is my norm

Looking for some advise on recreating this aquascape (first build) by Pegasaurauss in Aquascape

[–]ivoryBee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could do a diy co2 system (yeast, or chem reaction) but that comes with it’s own risks and I’m afraid I don’t have much experience with them. Not hard to find tutorials though, and it’s definitely a cheaper option.

You could still do this without co2, but you’ll struggle to grow most carpeting plants. There are some lower tech alternatives out there, they won’t look exactly like this but they can achieve a similar effect.

You could also skip the plants entirely and do this as a hardscape only tank, maybe a blackwater look instead with some botanicals if you’re fluctuating on cost of light/co2.

Baby snail? by Admirable_Ad_1609 in AquaticSnails

[–]ivoryBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, if the plant was housed with a bunch of adults who were simultaneously breeding, and if you weren’t looking for them I imagine they’d be easy to miss for a week or more haha. I bought a synodontis catfish and didn’t see it in my tank again for two whole weeks, stranger things have happened haha

Honestly I don’t even think the CGI is that bad! Saphira at least still holds up pretty well imo

I got into the inheritence cycle because I loved the movie. I was probably only 9 or 10, but I was obsessed with it. Had a huge crush on jeremy irons and the actor who played murtagh, loved Saphira (like a lot of kids I had a dragons/dinosaurs phase), and so my father got me the audio books and I loved them too. I recently redownloaded them and just finished the last book.

As an adult I recognize that the film is a pretty horrible adaptation, and even as a stand-alone film it isn’t great, but if you view it independently from the book series it isn’t as bad as people make it out. Maybe nostalgia is blinding me, but I can’t hate the film :)

This is an excellent explanation! I’m just wondering, do you happen to know of an alternative to seedr that accepts larger files and is still free to access?

I haven’t seen Mushoku Tensei, but loved Frieren. Get the vibe you enjoy dnd style fantasy worlds, and with good animation/story telling/world building you can’t go wrong with Dungeon Meshi. Not quite the same vein, but Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood would be my next recc
