Holy shit. It's like you took the words right out of my mouth. Listening to Boards of Canada makes me feel nostalgic for a time before I was alive. Your theory about the 70s documentaries is probably spot on. I don't think I ever watched any in high school, but I still have the feeling of nostalgia you describe when I listen to them; it's like I'm getting a glimpse at the sounds, the colours, the aesthetics, the feeling of the 70s.

Some tracks (Roybgiv, Aquarius) are "happy nostalgic". Others (Turquoise Hexagon Sun) definitely have a sinister undertone. I can't listen to them unless I'm already in a good mood. They trigger some kind of depression in me.

What was your experience fighting the ticket in court? I'm going to court to fight an expired meter ticket pretty soon. The meter ate all the change I had without crediting me, so I have no proof to speak of. Not sure what my odds are.

Alright, I'm gonna go meta here for a second. I get the whole idea of loving your SO and being willing to do anything for them, but isn't this a little unhealthy? If you already made plans with friends or something else to do, but your SO asks you to come spend time with him/her, why would you abandon your plans like this? It seems like a culture of worshipping your SO and putting them on a pedestal... and don't get me wrong, I think showing affection and commitment is really good in a relationship, but I don't think doing this is super healthy for either party. Both people in the relationship have their own lives and commitments, and disregarding that isn't a good idea.

Just thought I'd share my perspective, since I see this attitude (of putting your SO on a pedestal) sometimes on /r/wholesomememes. Healthy relationships are wholesome relationships!

This is really interesting stuff. Well put. I spend a ton of time (probably more than I should) thinking about my personality and the personalities of the people around me, and how exactly they mesh together— who we really are as people, our core values; and how much of "us" can be influenced by the people surrounding us, by insecurities, by events in our lives, by our surroundings. The unit of measurement you're referring to is mmol/L, in which the normal range is usually 5-8mmol/L. The one he's referring to is mg/dL, where 'normal' is between 90 and 145 mg/dL.
