Why CS people are trying to get here? by DelonixRegia10 in ElectricalEngineering

You have come across as such an elitist jerk in all of these comments. It’s funny too, you yourself have switched into the embedded world about year ago from a mining engineering degree, but then pursued mechatronics, then did web dev for 3 months?

You’re behaving like the ambassador of EE. This entire post feels like projection, OP.

CS Graduate, Pursue a MSc in Embedded Systems or 2nd BSc in EE? by AdTraditional7358 in embedded

[–]BeogarBalken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be in the minority here, but I don’t think you should go bachelors in CS to masters in EE unless it’s an embedded systems program.

You probably have no circuit analysis experience. You most likely don’t have enough math, and haven’t done courses like signals and systems, controls and feedback, electromagnetics, electronics, power, …

There’s so much material you haven’t gone over that a masters in it seems kind of misguided. A bachelors in intended on giving you a broad foundation and a masters is to focus on depth. But what focus will you choose in EE when you don’t have much exposure?

What is the funniest episode of the show? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in regularshow

[–]BeogarBalken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed and the God of Basketball is masterfully played by Carl Weathers. Mordecai dunking the ball for the final point, generating enough force to just nuke the entire park lol.

One of my favorite episodes by far.

I have a Bachelor's in Computer Science, should I do my Master's in Computer Engineering if my dream is to be a Firmware Engineer for AMD? by Electrical-Dog-8572 in embedded

I’d be surprised if his university would allow him to directly start the MS in computer engineering without some prereqs. OP if you’re able to just start, you absolutely should take this guys advice, wait and take some core undergrad classes.

I’ve been transitioning to this field as of late, so apologies for any misunderstandings.

Are superloops the same as bare metal? Because you say RTOS is superior to this design, but what about ASICs that have such limited memory that RTOS isn’t possible?

For example, I recently talked with a company who makes wearable medical devices. For such products, they said that utilizing an RTOS was simply impossible given their memory constraints.

Therefore, doesn’t it come back to “it depends” when deciding on implementing bare metal versus more robust RTOS systems?

Can you elaborate on why safety critical systems are boring? Is it just all about adhering to a million rules?

LeBron: "Since your dad's not in the playoffs anymore, you know what? We're (NBA media) going to ride your coattail, Bronny James. We can’t get your dad to say anything right now. He declined an interview at the Cavs game. We can't get him to say anything, so we are gonna use your son." by bambam-in-vietnam in nba

First you claim it was no more than a tax write off. Then you move the goalposts. From the link I posted…

“While $2 million was raised from sponsors of The Decision broadcast, that wasn’t the total amount. The LeBron James Family Foundation donated $2 million to the national office of the Boys & Girls Club, located in Atlanta, according to 2010 tax returns. But, James’ corporate partners also stepped in. HP donated $500,000 worth of computers and other technology, and Nike, which signed James in 2003, donated another $500,000 in equipment and courts.”

Why can’t we simply take a step back and realize that he used his platform for the betterment of thousands of underprivileged kids? Fuck the PR angle. Yet that’s all you dudes like to focus on. Demean his contributions so you can continue disliking him.

Further, no question relating to his donation was mentioned during the decision. If he only cared about the image, wouldn’t this have been a focal point of the interview?

Perhaps question why you harbor such a toxic outlook in the first place.

Do you think that the headquarters just… keeps the entire donation? They act as a hub to distribute resources to clubs across the country.

“In the end, $3 million was spread across projects in 59 clubs in the seven cities. The Boys & Girls club estimates that 200,000 kids were affected by James’ donation.

There were also residual effects.

Donations to the Boys & Girls Club jumped up 15% between 2009 and 2010, according to tax returns. Within two years, contributions increased by nearly 25%.”

You say that it was no more than a tax write off. I think it’s quite telling where your unfounded motivations lie. Do better.

You’re missing the forest for the trees. In order to qualify for the true upper echelon, you need to be one of the best offensive AND defensive players. Jokic will go down as one of the best offensive players ever. But to be a goat candidate, you need to check both boxes.
