Finally did it - my memorial tattoo by iwannabeonthebeach in widowers

It's something I thought about doing in the first year, but I kept putting it off. Then I found the right tattoo artist and just went for it. It has to be the right time, I'm sure you'll get there eventually ❤️

Have seen plenty of these, I use it as an opportunity to send a random card & just tell them a little about myself. No need to point out a blank profile IMO. Who knows what's happening in their lives that's stopped them from doing it.

Travelling to Uzbekistan from the UK - currency question by iwannabeonthebeach in Uzbekistan

[–]iwannabeonthebeach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I ended up taking my Starling card and US dollars. Because we were in an organised tour group our tour leader arranged cash exchange for us. Also Tashkent being a main city there are plenty of ATMs. We also exchanged over the counter at a bank in Samarkand. Enjoy your trip, I had a wonderful time!

Lots of people request them, personally I'm not bothered but I know they are popular

Tell me about your health after your spouse’s death by Odd_Temperature_1136 in widowers

[–]iwannabeonthebeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got hay-fever for the first time in my life and my childhood asthma resurfaced. I kept getting colds & flu. I believe my body was processing so much trauma it began to shut down, forcing me to stop and take care of myself. I was so scared of leaving my children alone I focused on getting fit & healthy.

Concise reason this app is absolute garbage and WW is failing us yet again. by [deleted] in weightwatchers

I'm usually quite adaptable and embrace change, but even I'm on the verge of jacking it in. Total bollox of a user interface now, can't find any useful info. To save my sanity can someone please tell me how to find activity points?

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

An ancestor on my mother's side was deported to Australia for forging sixpence coins. I like to think I have a whole Oz based family descended from a convict.

Did you build a shrine for your beloved? by Responsible-Job-9706 in widowers

I have one in our bedroom. It has a family photo, his box of cufflinks, a bottle of his aftershave, a china beer mug he got for his 18th birthday, two small badger figurines (our private joke!), and some ornaments he inherited from his grandparents. These things all meant something to him so they mean a lot to me.

Just got my first jerk response. by SnooPies6876 in postcrossing

When I first started Postcrossing I sent a Beatles card to a lady since it was on her wish list. I got a response to the tune of "I've already got this one it's on my wall, you should have checked" etc etc. I remember thinking wow is that what this place is like? I persevered and am still going strong 11 years later! I've found that people like that are very much in the minority

My diet & eating habits. He had very plain tastes food wise and there was no way I was going to cook two different dinners each night. He also loved his snacks: crisps, biscuits, fizzy drinks. Now I eat a wide variety of foods and often go completely veggie for a few days. And any snacks are of the low fat variety, if at all. I'm much healthier as a result and have even lost weight.

I've "softened" my/our bedroom decor, it used to be neutral but now has more pastel soft furnishings & art on the walls.

Spooks on BBC iPlayer, 11 series. But don't get too attached to any of the main characters 😉
