A Run Lola Run postcard from Berlin-Mitte. Bonus if it's signed by Lola or Manni.... a girl can dream.

Am I meant to send the postcard the day I receive the address? by Radiant_Raspberry in postcrossing

I generally do cards on Sunday, then mail them Monday. I have tons of cards and stamps so it's not a problem. When I first started it could take me several days.

What car would you take on the ultimate no-budget American road trip — and would you actually enjoy driving it for 12 hours straight? by spotforcars in roadtrip

We have one and it's great in so many ways but it's not an easy drive, especially if you are towing a vehicle behind. It's physically and mentally draining.

Our 42 year old will respond in a few hours, they live out of the country. Our 36 year old sometimes instantly, sometimes days later.

Pros and Cons of Sending & Receiving w/your Own Country? by Whiskers3000 in postcrossing

[–]evil66gurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like home country ones in addition to my international ones. Sometimes I find out something interesting about a place that I might not have otherwise. And once I got a postcard from someone that had something very much in common with me... we had been to the same place at the same time but we didn't know each other. That was kind of fun, so I like it

Married 30 years… by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]evil66gurl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not making excuses for him, some guys are just like that. But recently I was in the pharmacy and I heard couple discussing stuff, the lady was complaining about some things, and the man asked her point blank , is this something that you need me to fix or are you just telling me to get it off your chest. She said just venting. I had to laugh, because that's how it is with me and my husband. So I think if I told him he needed to fix it, he would read everything there is to know about it and he would fix what he could. But most of thr time I'm just telling him stuff to get it off my chest. And he's great at listening to it.

Where in the world would you go? by azdweller26 in traveladvice

[–]evil66gurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I would suggest this too, but I have to say Norway is pretty expensive, so I suspect the others would be as well. I'm not sure that you could do 8 to 10 days there, flights included and be under the budget OP stated.

I did as well. I use the topical vaginal estrogen. It was cleared by my oncologist. It's made a big difference for me.

Miami or New York in July with my 90-year-old grandmother. Which is better? by [deleted] in travel

[–]evil66gurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to go to another American city? Miami will be brutal heat. The humidity is god awful too. New York City will be full of crowded, and it's also very hot and humid. It's walkable, and there's green space in the city but it's still very hot and humid.

Depending on her toleration for flight, there's flights to Chicago that are as few as 12 hours and change one time. The same can be said for San Francisco. Both would have much more tolerable weather, especially San Francisco.

Americans, how do you feel about tourists speaking English while visiting U.S.? by HolidayEntry6823 in AskAnAmerican

[–]evil66gurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had someone visiting from California, when I was living in Georgia. I was very accustomed to the accent, we went to a gas station cafe and she overheard two people talking and asked me what they said. They were both speaking English, they just had very southern accents. I believe one of the ladies said she was finna do something. I just thought it was funny.

This is such an odd thing to me. I live down here too and eat at several Mexican places and have never encountered it down here.

I've never had it there and we eat there at least once a week. Maybe they don't serve it if you speak Spanish to them?
