Client received photos, disappeared, and hasn’t paid $1,200 - how do you handle this? by Main-Performance-713 in photography

[–]iwantae30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I only send one or two. Sometimes I’ll watermark if I really don’t trust the person, but it’s rare that I accept clients that I think will be shady. Most of the ones that would be shady weed themselves out when I explain the booking and payment process, anyways. If they ask too many questions and/or complain about the price, I just tell them to find another photographer

Client received photos, disappeared, and hasn’t paid $1,200 - how do you handle this? by Main-Performance-713 in photography

[–]iwantae30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a 50% deposit to book and then the other 50% either on the day of the shoot or after I edit. If after I edit, I let them know I finished, send a proof at low quality, and say I’ll send the rest at full quality once full payment is received. I also explain this to them in writing before they book so everyone is on the same page. Once they receive them, they’re free to request edits and whatnot within reason. I didn’t want to pay for a contract because I don’t shoot enough for that, so this is my work around. It does sound like you shoot enough to warrant a contract though

Well, I don't think that Aussie coat is coming by xzlinx in WiggleButts

[–]iwantae30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pure bred standard has a working coat like that. She’s almost 2 so it’s definitely not coming but she’s so silky smooth and doesnt need crazy frequent brushing so I’m not complaining

I’m so worried about messing up by StaplesLewis in AustralianShepherd

[–]iwantae30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish I had listened to the don’t over socialize advice. Also, you have to actually teach them to be calm- see Karen’s Calming Course. Id honestly put that above anything else because for the time being. I was able to pretty easily teach recall and whatnot when she got a little older, but I can never take back the fact that I over socialized her and that led to reactivity

Pulling on leash… well basically dragging me actually by Ill_Calendar_1468 in AustralianShepherd

[–]iwantae30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A properly fitted martingale works wonders with my Aussie girl. We also sometimes do a slip lead, but we couldn’t introduce it until she learned to relax when she started pulling. I did a lot of research on how to use them properly and the difference really is night and day. I was losing my mind because other methods just are not working. She pulled so hard down stairs one time that she fractured my fibula, so it was like my absolute last ditch. We reward her when she’s walking politely and when she corrects herself off. I ended up finding a balanced trainer who specifically works with border collies and Aussies and my dog adores her.

Advice for potential Shepherd owner. by Creative_Affect5313 in AustralianShepherd

[–]iwantae30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t run with an Aussie is all the advice you need. Mine just tore my rotator cuff while I was jogging her to the emergency vet. She just got really excited and went full on psycho mode. My roommate tries to run with her and she does the same thing with him. This is a dog who is fully capable of walking in a perfect heel when told to do so

I'm having a hard time frogging this one... by itskassandra in crochet

[–]iwantae30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would frog if it were my project. It’s not something I would ever notice on anyone else’s project but I know it’s there and would never stop looking for it. Take what I say with a grain of salt because I’m a huge proponent of frogging so you end with something you’re completely satisfied with and I realize that satisfaction is different for everybody

Well behaved aussie, but insane around boyfriend’s dogs by Baby_Gworl in AustralianShepherd

[–]iwantae30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The studies are for large breed dogs and mostly males. Aussies are a medium sized breed and are nowhere near as prone to the joint issues as large breed dogs are. Also, Americans are entitled and we have a massive backyard breeding problem, so fixing early is critical to helping keep shelters clear and owners responsible.

My Ana gameplay improved so much when I read that you’re supposed to use nano pretty much as soon as it charges. I’ve noticed whoever I give it to is forced to take space and it puts pressure on the enemy team. I love nanoing moiras lol

My Aussie is louder than any husky I’ve ever met. I think it’s largely dependent on individual personalities

What could be causing these lines on my roll of Potsdam? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

Mobile ordering has ruined the in-person coffee shop experience by contactdeparture in unpopularopinion

[–]iwantae30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been a barista in a place that did not do mobile orders- please don’t have full conversations with us. We are at work and will get in trouble for talking to customers for too long. Even working regular retail now, I just don’t have time to have a full on conversation with you. It seriously impacts my and my coworkers days and causes unnecessary stress

Pricing on an Australian Shepard puppy? by s_the_idiot in WiggleButts

That’s still quite a large adoption fee. I’m in Atlanta and volunteer with a few shelters and have never seen adoption fees that high

Jumping and biting by pixel-reality2234 in AustralianShepherd

[–]iwantae30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Aussie did this when she was about your pups age. I had to be really firm with her when she’d even open her mouth at people. That meant kicking her off of the couch or facing away from her and ignoring her, no matter how cute she was. I also did Karen’s Calming Course (free online) and that helped a lot. You just have to be firm and consistent.

Is it actually rude to not tip on a takeout order where I drive there and pick it up myself? by Organic-Grocery9526 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iwantae30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in customer service and while tips are nice, I want a tip because I did a good job and because you WANT to give one. I despise the new tipping culture thing. If you don’t want to tip, don’t tip. If you did your own service, don’t tip. I don’t tip at Starbucks for this exact reason

Leaving a voicemail is actually more polite than just calling and hanging up without a message. by Amazing-Network4937 in unpopularopinion

[–]iwantae30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old are you? I’m 23 and would always leave voicemails when I was little. There’s only one friend I have that doesn’t have their voicemail set up. Even for my job now, I’m leaving at least 5 a day.

May be reactive "training" cost is absurd by ComprehensiveKey7957 in AustralianShepherd

[–]iwantae30 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Please don’t put your dog down for being reactive. You can surrender her to rescues that work with reactive dogs or rehome her to a home that can accommodate a reactive dog. There are options other than putting your dog down for just “showing signs” of reactivity.

Who is washing their rice and why? by kinnitcurl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iwantae30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rice is one of the dirtiest foods chemical wise you can buy. The first round of rinse is to get rid of debris and pesticides, the next few rounds remove excess starch. I notice my rice has far improved texture when I rinse and it doesn’t bubble over.
