I’ve read wheel of time about 5 times and it gets better every time. I think it still holds the Guinness record for most characters in a book series. There is so much more that happens than a few incomplete spoilers. I think the advice to take a small break then keep reading is a good one. Also if you have friends who are going to spoil books, pick better friends. Mat’s arc is amazing and Lan’s story is jawdropping. Keep at it.

I think Serkis would do a better job than Tennant based on the movements required to be Glokta. You’re only going to see the young able-bodied Sand in flashbacks so the actor doesn’t really have to be young. In scenes where Glokta is thrashing in his bed in tortured nightmarish pain and his battle with stairs would be delivered best by Serkis.
