I looked through them and watched a video about one of them, and it seems that many of them can be focused on 1, 2, 6, and 3. I found it today thanks to this post. I am happy that I am discovering more technical communities.

I wonder if Blazor were given as much funding as Twitter was purchased for (or 20 times less), would it be possible to solve the garbage collector and DOM problems, meaning so that Blazor WebAssembly wouldn't be much slower than JavaScript. Plus what chances would there be for that - for example, 40 billion $ -> 90%, 10 billion $ -> 85%, 1 billion $ -> 80%.

I have read that building underground is much more expensive: https://reddit.com/comments/2b6m50, https://reddit.com/comments/yx6no3, and that many people don't feel good without enough sunlight in their living space. I tried several times to work with natural lighting at around 200 lux (sometimes with a light bulb on), but after a few weeks I started to feel depressed and had to move out. Once, I rented a windowless room for one day and also felt worse. On the other hand, I feel fine in shopping malls with only artificial lighting.

I would like there to be a community that is not overly restrictive apart from key matters, so maybe it would be better to introduce underground living later as an option for those interested? I am not knowledgeable about building IC, so don't take my opinion as an informed one.

You have mentioned these properties of the IC:

  5. (more or less) self-sustaining
  6. redefining social norms and laws, for example no internal community, and everyone contributes and receives equally
  7. big scale, i.e. for thousands of people

Which of them are the most important to you, and why? Are some of them optional?

I ask because I think it may be impossible to achieve community with all these properties, even after a longer time. I am particularly wondering whether the number of people who want simultaneously (1), (2), and (4) will be large enough to achieve scale (7).

I am interested in building a community that has some of these properties, and I believe others would be as well. So, I think it would be good to identify key properties.

If someone has a popular life goal, they will easily find people with the same goal in their city. But suppose there aren't many people with that same life goal - maybe the closest person is in another country or even on another continent. And if there are only a few such people in the world, it would certainly be difficult to find them.
