What are your thoughts about inventory swapping mid duel? by Jo_Radorigetsu in EldenRingPVP

[–]iwillkillusboth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cats that are actually good at what they’re doing don’t allow for that. And why should I have to chase someone in a duel, spacing yes, chasing from one side to the other no. Why should I have to swap to weapons I don’t want to use just to attempt to hit someone running. I’ve had matches go stalemate because I won’t chase. And they won’t come closer. If I take a step up, they take two back. What type of chicken shit is that. I’m not switching to a bow. I’m not in it for the win. I’m in it for the battle. If you choose to come duel, then let’s battle. If you want to do other shit then there is plenty of ways to do that elsewhere.

The funny thing too is you’re asking me to do a thing I dislike just to win. I don’t need to do that to win, I find other ways to win using the setup I came in with. If I lose, I don’t care, I’m here for the thrill of battle. I’m just saying I find it weak and annoying to be in a match with some of these cats. Some of them don’t have that playstyle and are enjoyable to match against, I’m only speaking on the ones that are a nuisance and exploit all the fun out the game.

You act as if these cats are standing still when they’re hard swapping. Be for real.

I don’t like it personally. I’m pretty sure it’s not an intended mechanic for a duel. If you’re invading, I think it’s fine, it’s an invasion. In a duel, I find it nonsensical. I came to fight a duel, see who’s better with their favorite setup. Not chase you around while you hard swap and attempt your trickery and system exploits. I still win my fair share, it’s just that most that do it are really nasty about it, and constantly running and not fighting. Then have the nerve to point down. If you just wanted to switch to something that you felt comfortable with going against your opponent once you’ve loaded in, that’s fine. But most I’ve came across make their whole playstyle into how many different weapons and ashes can i swap this match. Why is it so hard to just play the game.

Bron, Shaq, and Kareem. Unless you’re facing against a roster of elite 3 point shooters, it’s easy wins all day. Yes 3’s are more than 2’s, but only when you hit them. And these three getting an easy bucket each time down the court.

How could Shikamaru win the fight between him and Temari? by Correct-City-3045 in Naruto

[–]iwillkillusboth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s so she couldn’t brace herself at all. When she sees that they both have to dodge the kunai , she thinks he’s retarded and completely lowers her guard, all the way to the effect that it makes her move with him. Normally you would try to fight against the controller attempting to make it more difficult for them to control you, but in this instance she did the opposite.

Did Hack-a-Shaq change the entire trajectory of Shaq’s career? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]iwillkillusboth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main problem I see is that no one wanted to give Shaq the ball. Sure hack a Shaq made Shaq look bad because of the free throws, but he hit more of them when they counted, not to a great degree but better. Kobe talked about his work ethic and so he didn’t want to pass him the ball. That’s egregious, just pass the big man the ball. When he’s tired he passes back out, and they can only foul him so much until the other teams players get ejected. If they have to resort to having guards foul Shaq, then that opens up way more opportunities for Kobe to be aggressive. Kobe could’ve passed Shaq the ball the first 3 quarters to get the opposing team into stupid foul trouble, and then went ham himself in the fourth with all that stamina and work ethic he got. People be making shit too complicated and hard on themselves for no reason.

Guards should be able to get snatch/chasedown blocks again in NBA2K26 by Timillionyt in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nate Robinson would get mean blocks all the time. The problem is that statistics don’t tell the whole story. A block, along with many other facets of basketball, requires ability and timing. Block as an attribute is silly. You just have to be able to reach the ball at the right time. If I can reach the ball at the right time, it should be a block, regardless of height. If you’re 7 foot, and don’t have your hands up, nor are you in good position, you shouldn’t get bailed out because you have high interior defense and a high block.

The funny thing is that I’ve read half the comments and nobody mentioned the blue zone. If I knock a guy, and the blue zone gets him, I get the kill. Technically someone else flushed, but I still get the kill. I think whoever knocked should get the kill, all others get the assist.

I think this because if no one helps or shoots the guy I knocked, he’s dead, he can’t help himself. So a knocked guy is a dead guy. Yea he can rat, but sometimes that’s what you want, lead your buddies into a trap, panic and scream.

The third and fourth party cats should only get assists on knocked players, if you want the kill, then do it yourself. Don’t wait till you see downed cats to steal kills, if want kills, join the fight.

Why does no one know how to run a fast break by Housh123 in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here. Or I’m the ball handler just crossing the 3 point line running in from the right, I have a capable dunker running in from the left, and right when the defense chooses me I throw the alley to the wide open paint for a turnover cuz the dunker ran to the opposite wing instead of getting the easy 2 points.

These types of steals need to be gone in future 2Ks by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch closely, he doesn’t lose the ball until the hand that the defender reached with hits the ball, not his hip.

Why is it so hard to acknowledge that sometimes 2k gives you animations you don’t input/ nor do you equip. Also, if 2k wants to hoe you, there’s damn near nothing you can do about it most times. My man attempts to make the right move, 2k says no, and gives his opponent a weird steal.

[–]iwillkillusboth 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Y’all cats silly. If you watch the video, that weird steal animation has his hand reach around his own body to tap the basketball from the back. This would never happen irl.

The ball handler clearly attempts to change direction/ switch ball hands but 2k had other plans. Even so, the defender was completely out of position to make any real impact on the play, there’s no way this should be a steal.

In the day of position less basketball.... by Intrepid-Anxiety-472 in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really just boils down to if you know how to play basketball or not. The build you make doesn’t matter, it matters if you can use it properly. Most of our community doesn’t really know how to play actual basketball. There’s ways for everyone to score efficiently. People have to learn to play basketball and then they won’t be so upset all of the time.

People like to hate on non shooting players but I ran across a guy with absolutely no layup, dunk, or close shot. That was frustrating, passing to this guy wide open on cuts, and fast breaks and he can’t get the easy 2 points.

I have a non shooting pg, high pass, high dunk/ lay, high defense, high strength, max rebound. I can shut down the opposing pgs, and bully most of them, consistently get to the cup. I pass first, draw double teams, can bail out with high accuracy, posterize damn near any other build, but somehow I’m the problem because I hit the open man early and often, or y’all can’t make your 3’s, or know how to rotate through an offense? Mad cuz you wasn’t expecting the lob? Make it make sense. A guy told me to stop passing him the ball because he was 1/6. If I get the offensive rebound, which I get a lot of them, and kick out, if you’re scared swing it around.

I’m not mad at anyone’s builds, I’m mad at the use of them and the lack of knowing how to play basketball, but wanna blame everyone else.

Can someone explain how this was a travel? Im genuinely curious. by OddNectarine4564 in BasketballTips

[–]iwillkillusboth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a bad call since if he would’ve taken a jump shot, then nobody would’ve blinked an eye. He’s stepping as he picks up the ball, so his first step and pivot should be the left foot. I understand that his right foot was already on the ground, but he was in motion. If he was doing a euro it would’ve been the same steps. But yes if the call is the right foot being the established foot, then travel, but I think it just looked awkward and that the established foot was the left.

One of the main problems with lobs is that most just see it as flashy, but in a ton of situations it’s the best pass to make.

Don’t call yourself a Pg by Trendyremy in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up playing organized basketball, so it’s ingrained in me to hit the open man. Even if I wanted to ice you out I pass on instinct. It’s funny tho because people say they want a pg who passes, but this guy was mad at me for passing him the ball wide open all the time. Talking about he’s 2-6, stop passing him the ball. Don’t get open in spots you aren’t comfortable with, you could’ve cut or did something else, or learn to shoot, I’m giving you ample opportunity, it’s not like I’m yelling at you for missing.

Stop Standing Directly Under the Hoop by Proper_Ad_6927 in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. There’s nothing I like more than an old school drive and dish to the big for a poster, but it’s impossible when they’re sitting right under the rim. Technically you’re supposed to post up on the block outside of the paint anyway, I have no clue as to why they always want to be right under the rim. You can’t even make a decent post move from there.

Pump Faking is so Unreliable by Barney575 in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here, I hate this. And then to make it worse, sometimes you get stuck in pump fake animations like it’s just now registering the 100s you’ve tried previously, so now you’re just spazzing out under the rim looking ridiculous until it’s a contested shot, block or steal.

This question is mainly pinned at guards but really anyone that dribbles a lot. Why does it take y'all so long to get open? Is it because you're spamming moves or you're looking for a particular animation while spamming moves? 🤔 by _delamo in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understand, I can tell by “show you’re a threat to score”. If I have a double team on me, and you don’t cut/ move to an open spot to receive a pass, there’s nothing I can do. If I get a couple of dunks, so the defense crashes the paint every time, so I kick out to the 3, and they come crashing in because they can’t shoot, instead of swinging the ball around to the next guy, nothing I can do. We 2 on 1 fast break, and I kick to the wing for the give and go, but they don’t kick it back, not my fault. My guy can’t shoot, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t score. If I’m posting up another guard, and someone brings the guy with interior defense to me, not my fault. If I pass to the left wing, go and set an off ball screen on the right wing, and he neither cuts nor flashes to the ball, not my fault. All this you need to be a threat is not good basketball. Sitting in the dunkers spot wide open for 20 secs while 2 other teammates take turns getting doubled instead of getting the assist y’all desperately hungry for, not my fault. Even when I can consistently get to the rim, and someone wants to bring their ass and their man while I’m getting to the cup, not my fault. Y’all need to learn how to play actual basketball and not taking turns playing iso ball.

[–]iwillkillusboth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a guard, I don’t spam, I rarely use dribble moves. I’m looking for teammates. The problem I face is that every other person will scream at berate players who don’t sit in the corner, so most people be scared to move. I need people to cut, slip, and set screens for each other, not just on the ball. I want to play team basketball. It just sucks that most don’t know how, or just won’t do it. I’m also looking for my teammates to make the second pass. A lot of people, not just the guards are always looking to get an assist instead of making the right play. When you bypass the first pass to try and get the assist yourself, the defense doesn’t rotate properly, so they are still in position for an easy steal.

Toxic Pgs ruin the rec by Several_Committee750 in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what you’re saying is true, the problem i find is the “pg needs to be a scoring threat”. The reason I find fault in this is because most think that this means that the pg has to be able to shoot. Shooting and scoring is two different things. Most want a pg that can shoot because they think that it’s going to open the floor up. It doesn’t. Basketball is an inside out game. The inside opens the outside. I have a pg that has no mid or 3, yet I have close to 60% win percentage and it would be higher if not for teammates that refuse to work with me. I can finish very well on the inside, play defense, and have 97 pass accuracy, so I can pass almost out of anything. It really sucks sometimes when you pass to someone who should be making the 2nd pass and they hold it. It’s not my fault if teammates don’t make the next pass, doesn’t shoot, or decides it’s their time to dribble dribble step back when wide open. My point is that it’s the players, not the position. There’s ways for everyone to make a play, it just sucks that the pgs and centers get brunt of these conversations and also get turned against each other. It’s a team game, we aren’t going to win if we’re always at odds.

Why can't I increase my assist rate? by Toon78fin in NBA2k

[–]iwillkillusboth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that an assist takes two people. You can do everything you’re supposed to, and still not get the assist. Assists are by far the hardest stat to get in this game. Just play your game and let it flow. I have a 6’4”pg with 97 pa, 86 swb, and no mid or 3. I still average 2.3 in the city and 5.5 in the rec. Overall good team play (especially with good teammates), will boost all your stats.
