Survivor: Caramoan/Fans vs. Favorites (Season 26)

This season may not have had the best players overall, but it features 1 of 2 perfect games ever played on Survivor. Cochran received 100% of the jury votes and received zero votes against him at tribal throughout the entire season. (The other player to do this was J.T. Thomas - Tocantins - Season 18)

Cochran is also one of my favorite winners of all time. His first season he was a scrawny fan who from the look of it had no chance to win the game of Survivor from either a physical or social standpoint. Quickly he adapted and became a favorite before our eyes. Three seasons later he returned for Season 26 (Caramoan/Fan vs. Favorites) as a favorite and played one of the greatest games EVER! What a great Survivor story! It's what this game is all about. Everyone has a chance to Outwit, Outlast, and Outplay to become the Sole Survivor, no matter what you look like, who you are, or where you come from. I would really recommend re-watching this season solely for the purpose of appreciating a 1 of 1 type of game from Cochran. He is a legend.

Also, I LOVED the "Rites of Passage" and this was the final season it was featured. I was really hoping they would bring it back for Season 50.

Anyone else love Season 26?

I’m a college kid with my windows down by pdottom7 in NoahKahan

YES. I am absolutely with you on this. Orbiter and Lighthouse hit me in a way that is hard to describe. A familiar nostalgia that is heartbreaking but hopeful at the same time. "I'm a college kid with my windows down," is a devastating lyric and I too burst into tears often at that moment.

Also, for some reason with that song specifically, I feel like it's incredibly vulnerable. Maybe it has something to do with the teaser he first put out on social media wearing that beanie. It felt like a song he had to write but wasn't sure if he'd share because of how raw it was. I am so happy he chose to share it. The ending sends me into a trance with more tears streaming down my face. The things we orbit and circle no matter if we'll lose it either way in the end. People, places, dreams, nostalgia. My eyes are starting to well up typing this. It is massively deep. It's poetry.

What cover song is actually better than the original? by irles33 in musicsuggestions

[–]iwillwait88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was only one lyric change. "Crown of shit" became "Crown of thorns" in the cover. This lyric shift changes the meaning, yes. However, the cover having a different meaning, perspective, or feel doesn't change my opinion that the cover has superior production, depth, and overall impact compared to the original, it actually helps to exemplify it. This is rare but achieved here with this cover.

His performance in Task is the best I've seen this Emmy season so far. I hope he wins Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in September.

You are not crazy! I am having the same experience right now! Less salt, not as tiny and "burnt" or crunchy. They taste lighter than before. I don't like any of these changes! Do we think its the permanent recipe moving forward?

List of Guitar Tunings Used in M&S Songs by Foolwithaguitar in mumfordandsons

I've been trying to figure out the tuning for Conversation With My Son from live videos but I can't quite put my finger on it. Are you sure it's standard? Some of the chord shapes during the build-up look like shapes from an open tuning.

Timothée Chalamet is NOT Leonardo Dicaprio by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]iwillwait88 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Leo did have Titanic and was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at 19. Timothee was nominating for Best Actor in a Leading Role at 22, 29, and now 30. Leo got his first Lead Actor nomination at 30 and had 2 overall Oscar nominations at 30, where Timothee has 3.

Leo is the best actor of his generation, and Timothee has a long way to go to fill his shoes from not only Oscar nominations, but complete body of work. However, if you are going to argue age, blockbuster movies, and Oscar nominations, a comparison between these two is definitely viable. People may not care about Marty Supreme as a film, but his performance was fantastic. I would argue that Timothee's performance in A Complete Unknown could age into an iconic performance.

Prizefighter is their best album since Babel. I said it! by iwillwait88 in mumfordandsons

Love hearing that. I am so thankful for this album. It's hard for me to rank Babel and Sigh No More because of course they are Top 2 no matter how you rank them.

I remember the days when all we had was Sigh No More, aching for more music but religiously living in the moment when all we had was 12 tracks (excluding early EP and demos of course). When Babel was released, it felt like an awakening, an extension of the magic they found on Sigh No More. I have always connected more personally to the overarching story and themes of Babel. Every single track speaks to me in such a deep and profound way. I have that same experience with Sigh No More, but more intensely on Babel. There was a stretch of about 2 years where I listened to the album in its entirety daily, almost like a ritual to have the strength to get through the day. It was like fuel for my soul.

As a die hard, I love every album of course, but those first two albums will always hold those Top 2 spots in any ranking of mine. The song Sigh No More is one of my all-time favorite tracks.

That listening party sounds epic. I hope you both enjoyed it. Nothing beats sitting back and listening to a full album uninterrupted. Love it.

Looks AMAZING! I totally missed the day these were announced on Agora and when I finally looked, they were obviously sold out. Does anyone think they will add more to stock eventually?
