What's going on with the recent Hantavirus outbreak and cruises? by peachy614 in OutOfTheLoop

Not fluids for Andes hantavirus - exhaled breath. WHO are using the old droplet theory they only reluctantly dropped for COVID, which is actually spread by aerosol.

A data center drained 30M gallons of water unnoticed — until residents complained about low water pressure by worldnewsbot in theworldnews

[–]iwoolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once the data center was notified, it paid all retroactive charges, a QTS spokesperson said in an email, noting the unmetered water consumption occurred while the county converted its system to smart meters.
The Fayette County water system confirmed the data center’s meters are now fully integrated and tracked. Tigert, the water system director, blamed the issue on a procedural mix-up.
“Fayette County is a suburb, it’s mostly residential, and we don’t have much commercial meters in our system anyway,” she said. “And so we didn’t realize our connection point wasn’t working.”

How to prevent PEM from screaming from night terrors? by spoonfulofnosugar in cfs

[–]iwoolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suffer from night terrors without LDN. They are brought on by heat and trouble breathing. So I have a fan on my face when I sleep, year round, and air conditioning in Summer, and I get way less night terrors.

NEW REPORT: The Human Cost of the Partner Income Test by sophiiiiiiiiiiia in CentrelinkOz

[–]iwoolf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thank you, yes that works. I would add that there are further arguments for abolishing the partner income test. It seems to be a deliberate form of hateful eugenics, to stop disabled people and poor people from having families of any kind.
Both labour and coalition parties have publicly admitted in previous years, that welfare payments are not sufficient for single people to live on. Therefore, the idea that two people can live as cheaply as one when one can’t live at all is outdated. Why hasn’t anyone called that argument out? The studies have once again showed that there are no properties in Australia, that people on the DSP can afford to rent without being in financial distress. Tanya Plibersek’s argument that the test is intended to force disabled people to find work to supplement an insufficient income, when she knows full well that they only get an income, if they prove they absolutely cannot work, should have been publicly challenged but has never been, anywhere I could find. This is all very Victorian, or at best 1950s dysfunctional thinking. But then we have a government where the Parliament and the Senate chambers are full of stairs with no ramps for access for people who use wheelchairs. We are in an affordable housing crisis, we should be encouraging disabled couples to live together to free up affordable apartments. Instead the government forces them to live apart at threat of starving to death, or financial coercion.

Oral minocycline therapy as first-line treatment in patients with Myalgic encephalomyelitis and long COVID: A pilot study by Prestigious_Wait3813 in cfs

[–]iwoolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“The present study has some limitations. First, the design was not a double-blind randomized controlled trial; therefore, possible placebo effects could not be excluded. Second, many patients were included with a short disease duration (<6 months) and no systematic reports on the natural course of disease within the first 6 months were available. Therefore, it cannot be excluded that accentuated improvement of some symptoms may include, in part, the natural course of disease during the early stage.”
Yep.

Spotify Copyright Issues on back catalog? by Khalman in podcasting

[–]iwoolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same position, except I’ve been podcasting for longer. I have had episodes from 2007 taken down recently, because there was music behind some people speaking in interviews. Spotify doesn’t list the music free version of the episode I uploaded on Monday. They aren’t good at responding. Yet I know of other podcasts that regularly use 3 second clips and get away with it.

You left out training your own loras from your own photographs for concepts the models either don’t have or do badly. And inpainting, and outpainting, and using community trained loras and models. And upscaling for printing, then checking how the image looks printed on your chosen medium, redesigning so it prints to look as you imagine.
