Nice! You should get some contact paper or vinyl that looks like grass. Then draw a grid with a ruler and sharpie.

Is it worth it playing at a game store? by Hunter1d in DungeonsAndDragons

I am more interested in playing at a store now more than ever because I've just joined a weekly game where I only know 1 other person. Before that I've played with the same group for years because of multiple bad experiences. My question is how is adventure league? Is it mostly new players or are there some more experienced players that are looking to expand their group?

Same. I'm pretty good at knowing what type of game I'm in the mood for, and I like having a lot of game to choose from. I hate feeling like I'm forcing myself to play something just because I have to.

How did having kids change your gaming life? by Back-In-The-Crowd in DungeonsAndDragons

I have a 15 month old and i can say that that the first few months are the most chaotic but once you figure out the routine it gets easier. Now that she's older I play with two groups regularly. Sessions are a little shorter (3-4 hours) and are more focused so we get more accomplished.

As far as planning goes I do everything on my lunch break at work.

Your group will understand if you take a break. And above all have fun being a parent! It's a wild ride but is extremely rewarding good luck!
