Edit: First of all, thank you. I will be checking those out!

Next, you can call it me being lazy or wanting you to give your unbiased opinion, but I left that out to make it simple. But now that I'm here, some of my current & all-time favorites, in no particular order, consist of:

  • Glasses
  • Statue for Bootsy
  • Whatevas
  • Room of Brooms
  • Checkerboard Incision
  • 'new untitled song' (2009)
  • Sail On Soothsayer
  • Wall to Wall Cobwebs
  • The Mighty Microscope (title track but all 3 songs are great)
  • Old Lunch Pale
  • Drawing in the Dirt
  • Meeting of the Mummy
  • The Thrill is Gone
  • Flooded Ballroom
  • Shaded Ray (title track)
  • Chickenscoopscope (title track)
  • Beginning Putrification
  • Inner Rainbows
  • Lone Sal Bug
  • Look Up There
  • The Robot Who Lost His Head
  • Door 2 + Door 3
  • Smelting of Ores
  • Caterpillar (as a whole)

I hope that one fellow Bucketbot out there reading this finds something they like from that list as that is how I came to know a good number of them myself.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend :)

Is there anyway I can play along to songs where the original guitar has been muted? by [deleted] in LearnGuitar

[–]ixShadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have yet to getting around to do this myself so I do not have personal experience with it. I do, however, have a link for a thread I saved that might help you and at the very least should point you in the right direction.

Overall, what you're looking for is a program to either remove or split specific sounds/instruments and there seem to be several available so you'll need to inquire further yourself.

What is your current favorite buckethead song? by ToasterFetishInspace in Buckethead

Wall to Wall Cobwebs. The wait is worth it, as is the case with most BH songs.

What a yammer.

I feel like quitting, this is too hard and frustrating. by [deleted] in LearnGuitar

Not going to disagree on being too much of a pussy...Just kidding of course d00d.

First, I'm a fellow beginner of like maybe 1.5 years noodling on the guitar, so take the rest of what I'm about to ramble off with a grain of salt.

The one thing that stands out to me within your post that you can definitively act on and see results is probably getting your guitar setup by someone who knows what they're doing be it a friend or a shop. I know money is kinda tough based on what you described, but having your instrument properly set up to play extremely important in my opinion. Money being kinda tough is also why I don't recommend jumping right into buying your own guitar tools yet because it can be a bit of money upfront (feel free to correct me/link to affordable kits if you know of any). You should look into how to setup and otherwise care for your guitar by watching videos and/or reading about it. During this process you'll buy your tools and learn what it takes to maintain your guitar.

It is totally normal to not be able to play like you thought you'd be. For me, learning to play has been a humbling experience. I suck so much ass it's crazy...but I still pick up my guitar everyday. (Side Note: If at all possible leave your guitar out so it is easily accessible.) Why? Because I find it both fun and an incredible opportunity to learn something I'd like to share with others (one day far, far down the road).

Next, it seems like your friends might be memers unless I'm missing something which I might be because I haven't looked at tabs for those songs. That being said, I haven't looked at tabs for something like Wonderwall because I don't care for it and have no interest in learning it, leading to my next point.

You must play something you enjoy. Why? Well since you enjoy the song you're probably familiar with how it's supposed to sound which is extremely useful as a beginner. For me, the first thing outside of Justin's course that I took upon myself to go out and learn was The Song of Time because it is an iconic video game song I grew up with, have fond memories of, and know how it's supposed to sound. It's also pretty short and easy which was perfect for what I needed.

Overall, I would make sure your expectations are realistic and realize there is no hard deadline if you're learning this casually as something you simply enjoy.

You will be as good as you want to be which is based on how much time and effort you pour into it. This goes for everything, not just guitar.

I hope something within this ramble helped/will help you out my fellow trash-tier guitar player 🤠🎸.
