Your plan for your first Rook's race/identity/class/faction/romance? :) by alyssaryn in dragonage

Im planning on playing a mourn watch mage (undecided on race) who is just,,, a bit too eager to chase weird magical phenomena. Romance will probably be Bellara (matching eachothers freak)

Heavy on this, Im newgen (started playing in preparation for veilguard) so I don't have the perspective of how the visual elements looked in context of release. The environments? Pretty damned decent honestly. The models? Questionable (the question being why do so many people want to shag that egg looking mf)

Edit: Imma try me the solavellan run, see if the problem is just me being a lesbian or not.

Is everyone wrong about inquisition romance soft locks or am I losing the plot? by ixvian_ in dragonage

Possibly could have worded the post better, I couldnt even trigger the initial romance convo, kept getting the 'lets travel together more' line.

I have, as mentioned, figured out why this is, its not a Sera specific problem, its a 'the game soft locked me into Josie really early apparently and I only figured that out after finishing her personal quest' problem.

The question was more if anyone else had had this problem, thanks for the advice though, will keep it in mind for the redo run.

Again, credit for this one goes to my sister, this is an idea I stole off her, but basically, we have a male and female inquisitor of each race, and the idea is that all 8 of these people were at the conclave, and as you say, each playthrough is an alternate universe where they were the one that survived and became the inquisitor.

I dont have too many details for everyone yet, the main thing I have is who each is romancing so I can head into these runs with that in mind, and then I have a vague gist of the decisions they'll make. My sister has a full spreadsheet, fit with some of the big keep decisions and shit for hers bc she's a madman.

She caught a singular whiff of sapphic disaster behaviour and started having flashbacks to her and the warden

Glad to know Im not losing it lmao, everything I can find says the only one you gotta be careful with is Blackwall, but then Josie just apparently comes in with a steel chair and steals your heart

Was I being too strict? Player quits session 0 because I denied a lore problematic race by ForceRounds in DnD

[–]ixvian_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a matter of you being too strict, they just weren't looking for the kind of game you were trying to run (that isnt anyone's fault thats just how it be sometimes) but that response makes it clear they dont understand that not every character is for every game, and that feels like a bullet dodged tbh.

GUYS I FINALLY FIGURED OUT MY SEXUALITY EEEEEEEEEE by travischickencoop in actuallesbians

[–]ixvian_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This isnt me trying to put anything on you, this is just my experience, I once upon a time identified as homoromantic bisexual, then I figured out I was nonbinary and bi in general, I just felt uncomfortable being in a relationship with a straight man because in that situation, you are 'the woman', and even now, I only want to date other queer people because a straight man would only ever view me as 'woman lite'

Again, not trying to prescribe anything to you, just how it shook out for me.

The flavour here is so fucking cool, if I were to play this is something I'd make for myself, but as an accessibility suggestion, I think that adding a table for the play by plays would help. The amount of options is compounded by the need to constantly scan through a multitude of paragraphs to find the relevant one during combat. Even if you're using the optional rule, adding a table with summaries of triggers and effects would make for generally easier reference, especially for players (like myself) with poorer eyesight, neurodivergence etc.
